OBI-WAN KENOBI Set Photos Confirm GAME OF THRONES Alum Indira Varma's Role - SPOILERS

The first round of photos from the U.K. set of Obi-Wan Kenobi found their way online over the weekend, giving us a look at star Ewan McGregor (though his costume was covered up) as the legendary Jedi along with several extras and supporting cast members. Now, we have some new snaps courtesy of the Star Wars Fan-Club Instagram page, and they confirm Indira Varma's role.

The previous photos gave us a blurry glimpse of the female Imperial Officer without her mask, but we now have a much clearer view of the actress as she walks past the camera, and it's definitely Varma.

There was speculation that the Game of Thrones alum might be playing Kenobi's love-interest Satine Kryze, but that's clearly not the case. Whether this mysterious "IMP" will emerge as the show's primary antagonist remains to be seen, but after Varma's ferocious turn as Ellaria Sand in GOT, we can only hope she's given the opportunity to sink her teeth into a similarly juicy role.

Specific plot details are under wraps, but we do know that Obi-Wan will be set between the events of Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, and that Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader for a confrontation with his old master. There are also rumors that younger versions of both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa will appear, but that's yet to be confirmed.

McGregor and Varma join Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. Their characters have not been announced.

The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow is set to helm all episodes of the series, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy on board as producer along-with Chow, Jason D. McGatlin (The Rise of Skywalker), Tracey Seaward (The Queen), and John Swartz (Rogue One).

Always liked her, shame my boy Quentin Tarantino isn't directing this.

There was a time when I was somewhat looking forward to this, but right now I'm indifferent. Seems like there's too much going on for my taste, especially with the inclusion of Christensen as Vader. I'll wait for trailers and reviews, and might watch it when it's out, but I can't say I'm excited.

Obi-Wan may be my favorite Star Wars character. Having said that, though, placing the content of all these new shows in time lines with a fixed ending just feels like trying to put Humpty-Dumpty back together again after the fallout from the last films. The continuity is starting to resemble a bizarre combination of Frankenstein's Monster and Jenga.

Wonderful and downright gorgeous actress. GOT/D&D really did her dirty by making her character a one-dimensional wasted villain. Glad those mfers aren’t in charge of Star Wars.

She can be an Imperial Officer at the beginning of the Show but she can switch sides. I think she can play that type of character. Even she could be Obi-Wan's love interest. All Imperials do not have a cold heart and this time we can meet the person under the uniform.

Finally, she can die knowing that Luke is Vader's son. She will take the secret to the grave.

Is that a bottle of squirt? Haven't drank that in forever.

This was the series I was most excited for in the beginning, but post-revamp I've turned very lukewarm. I wanted a Western-style story of Obi-Wan fighting outlaws to defend Luke on Tatooine, not yet another Imperial conflict and definitely not potentially breaking canon with a meeting between Vader and Obi. I still hope it will be good, but it's lost a lot of my hype.

I don't think she'll be an officer who is necessarily hunting Kenobi, but more just one stationed on Tatooine (who does end up pursuing Kenobi).

I'm still hoping an Inquisitor is gonna appear, and preferably Barriss Offee as one. Varma was my pick for that, but Varma as an officer doesn't mean I don't want it anymore.
