EW has debuted our first official still from Ash VS. Evil Dead, giving us a look at Bruce Campbell as the Deadite-slayer of the title in all his bloody glory. He's joined by his fellow Value Stop employee sidekicks Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana Delorenzo). So what has Ash been up to in the years since his last tangle with the demons on Army Of Darkness?
“Not much!” says Campbell. “He was perfectly happy doing basically nothing: telling lies about how he lost his hand in bars late at night. That was basically his MO. So, he’s not really the guy who should be dealing with this right now. But…he is. He’s our guy!”
Turns out it's Ash who is again responsible for unleashing the Evil Dead upon the world. Just as well this idiot is handy with a boomstick!
Bruce Campbell will reprise his role as the title character Ash, a stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the past three decades avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons — personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its evil grip.
Set for a late 2015 premiere, Sam Raimi directed the pilot which will also stars Lucy Lawless (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Marrie Jones (Sleepy Hollow), Ray Santiago (Touch) and Dana Delorenzo (Growing Up Fisher).
