It was announced earlier this summer that Supernatural season thirteen would feature a backdoor pilot to a potential series that many longtime fans have been clamoring for for ages. That series, of course, being Wayward Sisters and just moments ago, Warner Bros. Television announced the cast of the series.

Kim Rhodes, who plays Sheriff Jody Mills, will headline the potential series alongside fellow fan-favorite Briana Buckmaster, who plays Sheriff Donna Hanscum. They'll be joined by both of Jody's foster daughters Claire Novak and Alex Jones, played by Kathryn Newton and Katherine Ramdeen, respectively. Joining the quartet will be Clark Backo as the newest member of the family, Patience Turner, a young psychic that Jody will take under her wing.

There's no airdate for the episode just yet, but they did reveal that Andrew Dabb and Robert Berens are penning the script.

As for the upcoming thirteenth season, Misha Collins has been confirmed to return, but whether he returns as Castiel or someone else entirely remains a mystery. Samantha Smith will also be back as it was revealed that Mary Winchester, despite being trapped in an alternate reality with Lucifer, is far from dead.

Meanwhile, back at home, Sam & Dean have to deal with Lucifer's hellspawn Jack and it sounds like the brothers are going to have a few disagreements throughout the year on how to raise him as Dean wants to go with the "shoot it in the face" parenting method while Sam remains optimistic that they can break through to him.

There will also be plenty of cool returns this season in both realities, starting off with Missouri Moseley (Loretta Devine), who we haven't seen since season one. Executive producer Andrew Dabb also went on to tease, "Some people that have been long dead in our show are
less dead in the apocalyptic world." Sounds exciting enough.

So, what do you guys think? Excited? Sound off with your thoughts below!

The exciting journey of the Winchester brothers continues as SUPERNATURAL enters its thirteenth season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have encountered every kind of supernatural threat, facing down monsters, demons, and gods. Saving people, hunting things, and keeping the world safe. In the show’s twelfth season, the Winchesters were reunited with their long-dead mother and joined forces with the British arm of the Men of Letters. But things turned from bad to worse, with the return of Lucifer and the surprising revelation that the Devil is expecting a child. Now, Sam and Dean find themselves facing a creature of almost unimaginable power… one that could save the world… or destroy it.

Supernatural features:
Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester
Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester
Misha Collins as Castiel
Mark A. Sheppard as Crowley
Samantha Smith as Mary Winchester

I can't wait for this show. The Wayward Sisters have the potential to be a great show and really bring something new to the CW. I really hope that this helps make the John Winchester prequel spinoff a reality.

Nah. Love Jody Mills, but the daughter is incredibly annoying. The whole 'angry teenager playing at being a badass' is very old. Plus why would I watch a spinoff when season 12 convinced me to give the original up forever? It's been bad since season 8 but S12 was somethin else. Reminded me of Charmed. You can tell they've gotten incredibly lazy about it. And people watch crappy lazy shows, like Charmed, so I guess they've figured out whh bother, they don't need to put in the level of quality from the first 5 seasons. They can just churn out lazy CW crap and teenage girls will keep em on air.

Give me a Kripke spinoff (especially if its a John Winchester one starring JDM) and I'm in. Otherwise nah.

@connorblaze - Huh. There's no accounting for taste, but I understand yours at all. The show is still firing on all cylinders, which isn't to say there aren't slow moments on the show, but they have always been there. Supernatural has been eerily consistent over most of the 12 seasons(with the exception of the Leviathan one IMO)as far as storytelling and entertainment value is concerned.
