The CW has released the first footage from Gotham Knights via a pretty lousy-quality Instagram promo (we'll update if a YouTube version becomes available), giving us a look at some of the DC TV show's young heroes in action.

The teaser focuses on the first meeting between Bruce Wayne's adopted son Turner Hayes and Carrie Kelly (who is sporting some kind of costume), before the new dynamic duo make their way to the Batcave with their pals.

We also get a glimpse of District Attorney Harvey Dent, who is not expected to undergo his transformation into Two-Face in this first season.

Yeah, we're not gonna beat around the bush here... even by The CW's usual low standards, this looks bloody awful. But don't take our word for it - check out the promo in the player below and let us know what you think.

Gotham Knights will star Fallon Smythe (Grown-Ish) as Bluebird, Tyler DiChiara (Relish) as her brother Cullen Row, Olivia Rose Keegan (Days of our Lives) as Duela Dent, Navia Robinson (Raven's Home) as Carrie Kelley, Oscar Morgan (Trauma) as Turner Hayes, Misha Collins (Supernatural) as Harvey Dent, and Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown.

You can check out the show's updated logline below.

"The one-hour drama takes place in in the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder. His rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights."
