VENOM 2: After An April Fool's Day False Alarm, The Trailer May Be Arriving Sooner Than Expected

Earlier this week, there were rumblings about the Venom 2 trailer being on the way, and while that was a prank, there's now some compelling evidence that we'll get a sneak peek sooner rather than later...

Hollywood is currently on a standstill thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, but Venom 2 is one of what feels like only a handful of movies that still have release dates in 2020. With that in mind, a teaser trailer should be heading our way soon, and the beginning of this week was plagued by tedious April Fool's Day pranks about its debut.

Now, though, we have some seemingly reliable information about the trailer. According to a Twitter user who has been reliable for sharing information about trailers in the past, the Venom 2 trailer is undergoing the "localization process" in various international markets.

That points to it potentially arriving online imminently; it just depends whether Sony Pictures is planning to market the sequel as planned, something which isn't exactly easy in the midst of a pandemic.

Morbius has already been pushed back from July to next March, and depending what happens with theaters over the coming months, Venom 2 may or may not come out in October as originally planned. For now, though, it's hard not to get excited about the possibility of getting a first look at Tom Hardy's Venom going to war with Woody Harrelson's Carnage!

We'll keep you guys updated!

It’ll be weird to get a Maximum Carnage-esque story without Spider-man (presumably) but it’s gonna be awesome to get a Venom movie with Carnage.

Who would’ve thought we’d get Tom Hardy and Woody Harrelson playing the most 90’s characters ever in one of the most 90’s movies ever? I wonder if Andy Serkis will deviate from the tone set in the first one.

I thought it was a schlocky great damn time. Made me feel like a kid.
