VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE - Eddie And Venom Just Aren't Getting Along In Exciting New TV Spot

A new TV spot for Venom: Let There Be Carnage has arrived, and Eddie Brock is having a tough time getting on with his symbiote. They'll need more than couple's counselling to deal with Carnage, though!

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is fast approaching, and Sony Pictures has now shared a new TV spot for the Marvel Comics adaptation. The focus is very much on the unique dynamic Eddie Brock has developed with his symbiote, and it's clear the journalist is no longer taking any sh*t from the alien!

In 2018's Venom, Eddie was very much in the passenger's seat, but they're not getting along in this sequel. That leads to what looks like a fun clash between the two, though the Carnage fans among you will be glad to know that there are some badass shots of Cletus Kasady letting loose here as well.

"Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel's greatest and most complex characters," reads a brief synopsis that was released on the movie's website (where you can now purchase tickets for the movie). "Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage."

We recently caught up with Andy Serkis to discuss his work on the sequel, so be sure to keep checking back here for that interview - and our review - in the coming weeks (and yes, we talked Spider-Man).

As noted, Venom: Let There Be Carnage stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson. It's set to be released in theaters on October 1, 2021.

@LSHF - yup and honestly I’m down for that. I don’t need every CBM to be some heavy thought provoking piece.

If they just let Hardy and Harrelson ham it up and chew a few scenes then the movie should be entertaining at least.

The scene in the shop where Eddie and Venom are arguing as to whether he can eat her or not is brilliant, sells the whole movie for me.

OT:

Watched Malignant this morning and the movie is bound to be a cult hit. It’s absolutely batshit crazy, it’s stupid, but goddamn is it fun to watch. The kills and set pieces were gloriously over the top, the score was great.

I’m curious to see what anyone else here thinks of it.

Hell yeah, dude. Honestly - think it will be super fun to watch with an audience.

Saw Candyman by the way…needed a couple of days to think about it but I’m not super high on the movie. The kills were really cool and inventive. Yaha and Teyonah were excellent.

Just felt like some of the comedy was misplaced and story was really, really heavy handed. The ending also felt very, “wtf” to me.

Visually it was pretty spectacular, it just did not gel well for me.

@Moriakum

Love to see it 🤜🏻

@regularmovieguy - On a scale of National Treasure to Mom & Dad just how Nic Cage is the batshit crazy are we talking?

@regularmovieguy - I feel ya, different strikes for different folks. It's funny about Malignant though I haven't seen any of the trailers, but it was the markee poster in the theatre I went to that sold me. It's been so long since a movie sold me on a cool looking poster.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think Candyman was terrible, it just didn’t click for me. I’d actually say it was a frustrating watch because there were a lot of things I thought it did really well.

Don’t expect to be scared/on your toes from Malignant. Its in on the fun, for sure.

@regularmovieguy - I’ve never seen Mom & Dad

You're not missing much. It's a pretty average movie, no real surprises. Nic Cage is pretty great, but I'm bias towards him. He goes from loving but tired father to psychopath almost instantly. The real MVP is the soundtrack; It's a mix of suburban mall muzak and dubstep, which I know sounds incredibly stupid but the contrasting styles creates a really unsettling atmosphere.

I'll check out Malignant this weekend since batshit, stupid, and (good) score are all my trigger terms.

I really didn’t expect much from it at all but it’s the definition of turn off your brain and go along for the ride.

Lemme know what you think when you do watch it.

@regularmovieguy - Re: Malignant

Not a bad watch. I think most of the movie's twists are pretty much revealed during the prologue, though. Not that it was a bad reveal, but it wasn't super surprising either. The transition scenes were good. Like too good for the equally good overacting (specifically the main doctor and NotWanda Sykes), which for me at least the A-movie tier graphics and B-movie tier acting was a bit distracting. Whoever they got to play the antagonist was definitely something else; My shoulders hurt just watching her. The end was pretty weak, though. Overall a nice mix of new and old to watch on a rainy day, with a good but not entirely unpredictable twist.

Speaking of new and old; I feel like I'm already getting tired of the blender/garbage disposal red herring. Either maul or don't menacingly focus on them and move on.
