VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Star Tom Hardy Teases - And Then Deletes - Venom Vs. Spider-Man Artwork

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has moved into 2021, and star Tom Hardy appears to be teasing a meeting between Venom and Spider-Man with some gory fan-art depicting a battle between the two characters...

With COVID-19 continuing to cause major delays for Hollywood productions, we learned last night that Venom: Let There Be Carnage (the sequel's newly revealed official title) has moved from this October to next June. Now, it's in the spot previously held by The Batman, and arriving in theaters just a month before the next Spider-Man movie is supposed to be released.

Following last night's title reveal, Venom star Tom Hardy took to Instagram to share a gory image of his symbiote chowing down on the Marvel Cinematic Universe's wall-crawler.

Like many of the teases he shares, the actor quickly deleted it, but it's got fans getting seriously hyped about the possibility that Tom Holland could make some sort of surprise appearance in the sequel. It's definitely possible, though you would think it's something Sony Pictures would want to save for a third instalment of the franchise following Carnage's introduction.

However, with the Morbius trailer confirming that there will be references to Spider-Man in the movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is bound to include some sort of nod to Peter Parker.

What do you guys think of this possible Venom vs. Spider-Man tease from Hardy? Is that something you would like to see in the now delayed follow-up to the 2018 movie? Sound off below!

@tmp3 - I'm glad one celebrity finally admitted it lol.

Still find it funny how his team are trying to make it look like Hardy runs it with the bizarre posts and posting habits.

@tmp3 - that was a specific fan account. I’m in the RMC, I also attend Re-Org Jiu Jitsu. He’s been seen multiple times on his phone posting images of the team there.

Everyone 2 years ago: “Venom will bomb, and Spider-Man definitely isn’t gonna be in this sh*t”...

Everyone now:

@Se4M4NSt4ine - While I never assumed it would bomb, I did think it would be worse for Sony than it turned out. (I kind of guiltily enjoy Venom, honestly.)

But this Spider-Man tug of war business is definitely no fun at all for me, especially when Sony's producers seem so cavalier about the whole thing. Though, with the X-Men now home at Marvel, I'm not one to complain too much.

@Spock0Clock - I agree man, and I also have Venom down as a proud guilty pleasure!

And yeah, Sony know they have the upper hand on Spideys future for now, kind of shitty to keep Feige and fans in the back pocket with the whole will they or won’t they gag. But you’re right, X-Men definitely joining the MCU is a boost for us!

I wouldn't be surprised if Holland's Spider-Man and Hardy's Venom come to clash with each other at one point, I just don't expect it to happen anytime soon. Maybe 2025, but not earlier

Just can't get hyped for this.

I love how Sony screwed up the core dynamic between these characters so badly before they've even met that the only selling point for a Venom/Spider-Man crossover is whether or not they can get along. One of the best protagonist/antagonist conflicts is going to be translated into a story about personalities clashing

It'd be like if instead of the Tony/Cap tension focusing on their diametrically opposed approaches to heroism and accountability, it centered entirely on Cap not wanting to use computers

@OmegaDaGrodd - I don't even know if they can now play Venom's lethal protector approach vs. Peter's morality, because I can't see the MCU making a Spider-Man movie with a serious tone anymore. They seem to be laughing everything off.

They should have revealed Carnage today. Would've been a nice way to hype the movie and it's new release date.
