VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Reportedly Set For FOURTH Delay, Taking MORBIUS' 2022 Release Date

There could be more bad news on the horizon for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. A new report claims the movie is indeed facing another release date delay as Sony looks to push the sequel into early 2022...

Venom: Let There Be Carnage may not be the comic book movie at the top of everyone's list of most anticipated 2021 releases, but we definitely didn't want to hear this. According to Vulture, several sources have told them that Sony Pictures is planning to push Andy Serkis' Venom sequel to January 21, 2022.

We'd heard this was something the studio considered when that new October 15 release date was announced, but hoped it wouldn't actually end up happening. It was only yesterday during Sony's CinemaCon presentation that executives doubled down on theater exclusive releases and praised Free Guy's box office performance; as a result, we're definitely a tad confused!

If an official announcement is coming, it reportedly won't be until after CinemaCon is over.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage will take Morbius' date if it is pushed to January after originally being set for a June release earlier this year. Needless to say, we're expecting that Jared Leto-led movie to then also move deeper into 2022.

What does this mean for Spider-Man: No Way Home? Hopefully, nothing. Yesterday's trailer advertised a "Christmas" debut for the threequel, and it remains officially locked in for December 17...for now. Clearly, Sony wants to release its movies when the most people possible can go to the theaters, but that could be easier said than done in the midst of this pandemic (especially if people don't get vaccinated).

We're keeping everything crossed Venom: Let There Be Carnage stays where it is in October, but will be sure to keep you updated.

Meh. More hyped for the other comic films dropping this year anyway. With that being said,Harrelson looks like he'll be pretty fun to watch in this one.

I think the bubble has already popped with Endgame/FFH. A lot of people viewed that as a natural stepping off point. NWH may entice people, but I'm aware of many who have no interest in the new Phase 4 stuff.

I really am losing track of when Sony's Spider-Man movies are supposed to be reased. Thought both were 2022 already
