Well I am sure that this has been reviewed before but hey, the more opinions you have on something the better right? I mean you should know how something is before you spend the money on it, especially in this day in age where new games are 60 bucks. So in this review I will take on universe at a time; Amazing, Noir, 2099, and Ultimate. Will review the characters and their voice actors and the level graphics. So this just might be a long one. So lets get our web-shooters ready and take a swing through the four universes of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.

In the beginning we start off with a tutorial after a cut scene where Amazing Spidey catches Mysterio trying to take a tablet. During the fight, Spidey "shatters" the tablet during the fight with Mysterio. This resulting in the other universes and dimensions to be out of whack and its up to Spidey to save the day, with the help of Madame Web and a few others. After that its time to play the game.

I will start off by reviewing the Amazing Universe. Now the goal of each mission is to take out a boss who has stolen a piece of the shattered tablet that gives them loads of new powers, this is the basic story for each level in all the universes. In the Amazing Universe Spidey is voice my Neil Patrick Harris and he does a good job but not great. A lot of jokes and what you would expect Amazing Spidey to be like. The villains of this universe are Kraven the Hunter, Sandman, Juggernaut, and Mysterio and Electro at the end. The levels look.. well it is hard to describe. The picture shows the level that you face Kraven at and you can see that is the way the levels look. Like cartoony but thats the way Amazing is I suppose. Over-all Amazing is a fun place to play. Its more based on fighting and using combat so those that like that will enjoy this universe the most. Grade: B-

The Noir Universe.. Man is this the best. For those that don't know the Noir Universe is set in the 50's and from what I have seen it is like a mob story with Spidey trying to take them all down. I love this universe from the game and it has made me want to read all the Noir stuff. Spidey this time is voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes and its nothing really special. Good job but nothing great. Your villains in this world are The Hammerhead, The Vulture, and The Goblin. These boss battles are fun and man.. I wont lie they are freaky. The Vulture gave me a nightmare haha. Noir is based on stealth. You have to use the shadows and take out enemies on at a time, kinda like Arkham Asylum. The levels are beautiful. Classic 50's look to them all. The graphics are amazing. I kinda wish there was just a Noir based game. In my opinion Noir is the best Universe in this game. Grade: A-

2099 is next. First off this universe is the most beautiful in level design. It's clear that they wanted this one to look the best overall, but each univere does have its own look but with this being in the future it had to look that way. And it does. Dan Gilvezan voices Spidey this time and like before its okay. None of the Spideys really did an amazing job with it but they got the job done and thats what is important. Your villains will be Hobgoblin 2099, Scorpion 2099, and Doc Ock 2099. The most fun with 2099, is the flying scenes, well more like free falling then flying. You also use something called accelerated vision, this slows everything down so you can dodge and fight back. Action based levels mostly. Grad: B

We slip on the Black Suit and head to the Ultimate Universe next. The level graphics in this one are like the ones in the Ultimate Spider-Man game, which is what it should look. Good graphics for this universe. Josh Keaton voices Ultimate Spidey and well.. I think you get the point by now. Electro, Deadpool, and Carnage are the villains you face off with this time. The boss battles are fun and this universe is based all around fighting, which is what you would imagine when wearing the Alien Suit. You have a rage meter you use during the fights and it makes Spidey more powerful. This one is my second favorite universe and is fun for most people I am guessing. Grade: B+

At the end it all comes together and you end in the Amazing Universe, it ends where it starts you know. Spidey takes out Electro that has the last piece of the tablet and then puts all the pieces together but... Mysterio shows up and takes it, unleashing the full power of the tablet. Yup you heard it Mysterio is your final boss and its in a four part boss battle. The one where you are Noir Spidey, its almost exactly like the Scarecrow battle in Arkham and its just as good, you gotta stick to the shadows and not be seen. This final boss battle is the best part of the game I have to say. And then at the end.. We get an awesome cameo.. By Spider-Ham! Its a pretty funny ending to the game.

Overall this game is awesome. Very fun to play each of the different universes, each with a different play style then the others. The boss battles are fun and engaging. The levels each have a different art styles and it makes it the way it is. The voice cast is good nothing great but good. Is it the best Spidey game? Its one of the best. Web of Shadows might be the best but Shattered Dimensions is right on its heels in my opinion. Overall grade: A-

Lizard says to check this one out for sure. Lizard out.

The game felt more like something off the back-burner, but it was pretty decent considering that's all it was.

I still want a Spider-Man game as epic as the second and third entry based on the Raimi trilogy. One of the finest superhero games IMO. Arkham Asylum ain't got shit on those games.

I might pick it up when its $20. I played a demo and the controls felt a bit off to me, but otherwise I enjoyed it.
