i'm really tired of the people that complain that this isn't anything like the games. it just goes to show that very few people actually know the games. They may not be adaptations of the games themselves, but they most certainly follow the timeline.

The first RE game starts with the STARS team investigating disappearances, and they find the mansion. the zombies are causing the disappearances. The first RE movie is the explanation of the zombies getting out into the world. The first movie takes place just before the beginning of the first game.

In the beginning of the RE2 game, Leon gets transferred to Raccoon City, but when he gets there, the city is already overrun with zombies, even the police station is overrun. In RE2 the movie, we still see the city before its infested. then later, the movie and game overlaps when they drop the bomb on the city. We're just following different characters, and not Leon.

The RE3 movie took place way in the future of any of the games. In RE3 the movie, they explain that there are very few places left that are not overrun. None of the games are that far along.

so, actually, so far, they haven't screwed up anything.

its on thing to say you want a direct adaptation of the games, but to say the movies don't follow the games just shows what little people know.
