Chris Pine Says WONDER WOMAN Will Be “A F#cking Blast”

Chris Pine (Star Trek) is definitely excited to be a part of the DCEU and he’s looking forward to showing us a world of beautiful, strong, intelligent woman kicking major ass in Wonder Woman. Check out an excerpt from his Total Film interview after the jump....

In an interview with Total Film, Chris Pine once again shared his excitement on playing Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman and showed his support for Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins. After set photos leaked late last month, many fans assumed that a portion of the movie would be set during WW I.  Total Film has now confirmed those theories.

Check out Pine’s full quote below, as well as a copy of the article from Total Film.

Pine’s already started shooting the Wonder Woman movie with Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins, “It’ll be a f#cking blast,” he says of the suiting up as a WWI fighter Steve Trevor. “Patty’s got a tremendous sense of story, I couldn’t be happier to be supporting Gal in what’s going to be the first female-driven superhero film. I think in the world today we’ve had plenty enough of male-driven everything and it’s finally time to see how wonderful the world can be with beautiful, strong intelligent women kicking some major ass.””

Wonder Woman hits Theatres on June 23, 2017 and Gal Gadot will introduce audiences to Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice which is set to open in theaters on March 25th, 2016.

So we are forgetting about Supergirl and even Elektra and Catwoman.
Good to know.

Haha, I doubt it, Gadot is happily married with a daughter and her husband is a millionaire

Barbarella counts, too, surely.
Although she's not really a superhero. Comic book hero, sure, but not a superhero. If we count Barbarella, we'd probably have to count Flash Gordon-esque heroes, too.
Supergirl, I would say was the first female comic book superhero movie.
Catwoman doesn't count. It's not the Catwoman from the comics at all. And even if it were the Catwoman from the comics, she's a non-super anti-hero, so it still wouldn't count.
Elektra is also a non-super anti-hero. She's a fvcking assassin, for fvck's sake. Not a female superhero movie.
So I would say that Wonder Woman is the 2nd.

Not to be pedantic or anything.

@DukeAcureds So does that mean if and when Black Widow gets a film it won't be a superhero movie?

Right now I'm actually looking forward to the Wonder Woman solo movie more than I was ever looking forward to BvS since its announcement. That's all kinds of crazy tbh.

I think Black Widow counts. She may have started out as an anti-hero, but she's been Cap's sidekick, Iron-Man's sidekick, Daredevil's sidekick and an Avenger. In the movies, she's been a founding member of that aforementioned superhero team and fought off invading aliens and other such threats.
I would definitely give her a pass.
She's like Batman in that respect. He really shouldn't be considered a superhero as he has no superpowers, but fvck me if he hasn't earned it, right?
Widow's earnt it, too.

I bet it is. Its the first Super-heroine movie in this era of movies.(let's just pretend catwoman and elektra didn't happen). and im fukcing proud of WB N DC that they have dedicated their second standalone movie to Wonderwoman( yeah even before bats). im not a feminist, but this is the movie we deserve. Bring on Princess Diana ftw

When I watched TFA, the crowd had the EXACT same reaction.

This trailer has a 93% likes ratio on YT. The general audience loved it. Hell, at the very least 90% of the YT reviewers loved it either.

Well, SUPERGIRL was the first ever female-led CBM... Then upcoming WW, will be the next. And not forgetting CAPTAIN MARVEL next, as well as ANT-MAN & THE WASP (Well that's male AND female leads)...

I thank god that this is all happening in my generation right now. So blessed to be witnessing so many great CBMs... Don't u agree, everyone?

Are we not counting characters inspired by Wonder Woman, because if not Darna came out in the movies before Wonder Woman.

I really wish more people knew about Mars Ravelo, because he made just as many comic book characters as Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. If the execs at DC or Marvel were smart they'd buy the rights to his characters and would get a big boost in the Asian market.

Back on this subject, I do think this Wonder Woman movie will be the first to really show that a female superhero can work on her own. I hope it makes way for a Birds of Prey movie, because I've always liked that comic series.

LOL!

Yes there has been nothing but stinkers in CBMs featuring a female, but it can change and it will. We have proof with Divergent and Hunger Games to prove it can work!

But it could be worse I guess the one movie studio who is killing it, has no faith in their female characters.

WW will kick so much ass in BvS that her solo movie will be a hit for sure.

The difference between ww and the other female supercharacters is that ww is iconic.she is the first lady of all comicdom.she stand tall beside the world finest and is a major player in the JL.its not even debatable.
