Despite being one of DC Comics's most popular characters, Wonder Woman has never had a successful movie franchise. Although she has yet to appear in a solo movie, Wonder Woman has been confirmed to be one of the main characters in a Justice League movie for a 2017 release.

10: Malin Akerman (Watchmen)

Pros: While Akerman's performance as Silk Spectre in Watchmen was far from amazing, she is still a pretty good actress and has proved that she can handle an action movie.

Cons: After Watchmen, Akerman has stuck on doing smaller films, so I am not sure whether or not she would star in another big budget film. Of course, a good script could change anyone's mind.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

9: Gina Carano (Haywire)

Pros: An obvious fan favorite, Carano had a strong headstart with Haywire and acquired greater fame with Fast and Furious 6. As a bonus, Carano is a trained martial arts fighter.

Cons: Carano was chosen as the lead in a film adaptation of Rob Liefield's Avengelyne, possibly ruling out a Wonder Woman casting.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

8: Kristen Stewart (Snow White and the Huntsman)

Pros: This casting decision is the most controversial, and for good reason. At first, I did not like Stewart (mostly because of the Twilight films), but Snow White and the Huntsman proved that she can handle an action film. She has also delivered strong performances in everything that is not Twilight. If she can perfect her acting skills, she would get for the role.

Cons: At 23, Stewart would be too young to play Wonder Woman. Perhaps she could play Wonder Girl.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

7: Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon a Time)

Pros: Goodwin's performance in Once Upon a Time has proven that she is a capable actress.

Cons: Given how popular Once Upon a Time is, it is possible Goodwin may devote all her time to the show, ruling out a Wonder Woman casting.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

6: Adrianne Palicki (G.I. Joe: Retaliation)

Pros: Palicki was already chosen to play Wonder Woman in the failed 2011 pilot and is still intrested in taking the role again. Also, the new G.I. Joe movie has proven that she can handle an action film. Since Palicki does not have a hefty movie schedule in the future, she would easily sign a movie franchise.

Cons: Given how badly recieved the pilot was, Palicki might not be considered for the role.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

5: Odette Annable (Cloverfield)

Pros: In my opinion, Annable is one of the most underrated actresses in Hollywood. Aside from being absolutely beautiful, Annable delivered a strong performance in House. I think she would be great as Wonder Woman. Since she does not have a hefty movie schedule, Annable could sign on for a movie franchise.

Cons: After The Unborn, Annable has stuck to small films and television, so I am not sure whether or not she would take the role. Of course, a good script could change anyone's mind.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

4: Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World)

Pros: Another fan favorite, Winstead delivered a great performance in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, proving that she can handle an action movie. Given how talented she is, I think she would get the role.

Cons: Winstead has been working on independent movies lately and is not currently interested in doing blockbuster movies. Of course, a good script could change anyone's mind.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

3: Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy)

Pros: Wilde has proven to be able to handle an action film like TRON: Legacy, and overall she is a good actress. She would be a great Wonder Woman.

Cons: I honestly cannot think any flaws for Wilde. She would be perfect for the role.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

2: Kate Beckinsale (Underworld)

Pros: Another fan favorite. The Underworld movies are solid proof that Kate Beckinsale would be great as Wonder Woman.

Cons: At 39, she might be a bit old to play Wonder Woman. However, there is still the possibilty of playing Hippolyta, if ever necessary.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

1: Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia)

Pros: My personal choice for the role. Arterton delivered a strong performance in Prince of Persia and was one of the very few good things in the otherwise unwatchable Clash of the Titans. Arterton can play elegant and graceful women but can also be strong and aggressive when needed to be, which is exactly what Wonder Woman needs.

Cons: I honestly cannot think any flaw for Arterton. She is perfect for the role.
