Warner Bros. Responds To Reports That Gal Gadot Won't Return For The WONDER WOMAN Sequel

After speaking out against sexual harassment last month, Gal Gadot has taken it one step further and has reportedly told Warner Bros. that she won't return for Wonder Woman 2 until they drop Brett Ratner.

Gal Gadot made quite the impression on fans worldwide this past summer with her inspiring portrayal of Wonder Woman - a fan-favorite role that she's slated to reprise later this week in Justice League - but, it sounds like there may be trouble in paradise in regards to her future in the role unless Warner Bros. starts to make some serious changes.

According to Page Six, Gadot has essentially issued an ultimatum to Warner Bros. that she will not reprise the role for any future installments in the DC Films franchise, including for a Wonder Woman sequel, Flashpoint, and a Justice League sequel, until the studio breaks all ties with serial sexual harasser Brett Ratner and his production company RatPac-Dune Entertainment, who co-financed the original and will make a massive profit after the film's $821.7 million worldwide collection ($412M domestic, $409M foreign).

Gadot's original three-picture deal, which started last year with her brief stint in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, will be fulfilled with the upcoming Justice League, leaving her in quite the power position as the studio attempts to negotiate a new deal, ensuring that she stays on-board for the foreseeable future.

While Warner Bros. denies the new report, claiming they've already broken ties with Ratner, which they reportedly have, he is still very much a part of RatPac-Dune Entertainment and still stands to see a large payday from the $450 million co-financing deal his company struck with Warner Bros. The agreement is slated to expire at the end of next year, but considering that Wonder Woman 2 is expected to go into production long before then, the future does look a bit murky at the moment. The current deal partners the two studios on a slate that includes Justice League, The Disaster ArtistReady Player One, FlashpointAquaman, The Lego Movie 2Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Shazam!, The Billion Brice RacesJustice League 2, Cyborg, and Green Lantern Corps, amongst others.

Losing Gadot, especially after the year she's had, would likely have catastrophic repurcussions for the studio and their DC Films banner, which is finally on the up-and-up, so this shouldn't really be a hard decision for them to make. Cutting ties with an alleged scumbag like Ratner is a necessary price to pay in the grand scheme of things to keep arguably one of their biggest stars happy.

Good. She’s right in what she’s doing, and in that his wallet is the best way to attack. Honestly, she seems to be becoming quite the icon for women, feminism and equality in general by standing by her principles. Much like Wonder Woman

He has seemed like quite the douche for a very long time. He's made a few good movies, but he never came across as a particularly decent person.
