The original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, is a pop culture icon who has an undeniable star quality. It appears that very soon, that star quality will be recognized on the highest level. According to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Carter will be honored with the 2,632nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. PDT. The star will be dedicated in the category of Television at 6562 Hollywood Boulevard. Also appearing at the event will be CBS CEO Les Moonves, and Wonder Woman Director Patty Jenkins.

“Superhero fans will be thrilled to see the TV’s iconic original ‘Wonder Woman’ Lynda Carter honored with her well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!” stated Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. “We are proud to add Lynda onto our historic Walk of Fame.”

Carter is best known as the star of the American live action television series Wonder Woman, where she played the role of Amazonian warrior princess Diana Prince / Wonder Woman. The show, based on the DC comic book fictional superheroine character of the same name, aired on ABC and later CBS from 1975 to 1979.

Since then, Carter has gone on to star in numerous other television shows and films. Her most recent television appearance was in the CW's Supergirl, where she portrayed the secretly alien President Olivia Marsdin in three episodes of Supergirl's second season. Carter will also star in the upcoming Super Troopers 2. She will reprise the role of Governor Jessman, the role she portrayed in the original film.

Unfortunately, she did not have a role in 2017's Wonder Woman, but all that could change for the sequel. It appears she's with whatever director Patty Jenkins has in store. "We'll see what Patty does," the actress said. "I don't know how she's going to do it. I said to her, 'Whatever you want to do is fine with me.'"

Lynda Carter's induction ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. PDT. If you can't make it to the event, it will be also available for live stream.

She was WonderWoman back when superheroes weren't cool. But she made WonderWoman cool. And she's been cool all these years. Yeah, she deserves this.
