WONDER WOMAN Wins Critics' Choice Award For Best Action Movie; THE SHAPE OF WATER Takes Best Picture

The 23rd Annual Critics' Choice Awards took place tonight at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, and Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman walked away with the award for Best Action Movie. More past the jump...

Wonder Woman won Best Action Movie tonight at the 23rd Annual Critics' Choice Awards, beating strong competition from Logan, War for the Planet of The Apes, Thor: Ragnarok and Baby Driver.

In addition, star Gal Gadot was presented with the #SeeHer Award for challenging female stereotypes by director Patty Jenkins.

The big winner of the night, however, was Guillermo Del Toro's sublime The Shape of Water, which swam away with four awards including Best Picture and best director.

Unfortunately, Logan's Sir Patrick Stewart lost to Sam Rockwell for Best Supporting Actor, and The Florida Project's Brooklynn Prince was named Best Young Actor/Actress over Dafne Keen.
