RUMOR: Hugh Jackman May Return As WOLVERINE In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Once the deal between Fox and Disney is made official, characters from the worlds of the X-Men and Fantastic Four will be able to join the MCU. Now, a new report claims we could see Hugh Jackman join them.

Hugh Jackman finally retired from the role of Wolverine earlier this year when he starred in Logan but considering the fact that old age makeup was applied, it's fair to say that he could easily play the character in his prime if the opportunity were to present itself. Over the years, the actor has made it clear he'd like to see the clawed mutant join The Avengers but could that now become a reality?

While Jackman maintains that he's done with the role, a new report about the planned Fox/Disney deal claims that he could return as Wolverine once everything pans out. "And yes, it’s true," Ain't It Cool News claims. "We may see Hugh Jackman return to Wolverine for this." This should strictly be categorized as a rumour for now but it's hard not to get excited over the possibility this might happen.

Would it be confusing to moviegoers? Well, Jackman has already played multiple versions of Wolverine in different timelines so it would be easy enough for him to appear as yet another James Howlett in the Marvel Cinematic Universe once this deal is finalised. His version of the iconic character standing alongside the likes of Captain America and Spider-Man would also be a massive box office draw.

We'll have to wait and see but be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
