Bryan Singer Reveals Scarlet Witch's Role In X-MEN: DOFP; Says She's Been Cut From The Movie

That little girl we've all assumed is the Scarlet Witch? Well, it's not her says X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer! Instead, a scene in which an older Wanda Maximoff is referenced has been cut from the movie. There are also plans for Quicksilver in X-Men: Apocalypse...

We won't be hearing anything from Bryan Singer during the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past press tour due to some damning sexual abuse allegations, but when Empire Magazine caught up with the director not too long ago, he shed some light on the role of Scarlet Witch in the movie. For a start, those of us who assumed that it was the little girl we saw talk for the first time in this TV spot were wrong. "Is that the Scarlet Witch? No, that's his little sister," Singer revealed. "I even had a line which I cut, where Quicksilver's mother says to the little girl, 'Go up and bug your sister,' and the little girl says, 'She bugs me!' You never see the older sister, but it was to imply that there is an older sister for comic bool fans. I ended up cutting it." Thanks Bryan. Anyway, many were under the impression that the little girl would be brought back as a teen in X-Men: Apocalypse, and while plans for Scarlet Witch in the X-Men franchise are still unknown, it does sound as if Evan Peters will return. "Even though our Quicksilver is not a main character like in The Avengers, it's a character there's a lot of thought and concern about and it's a character I'd like to explore further in the sequel." For now, it seems like we'll just have to rely on Avengers: Age of Ultron when it comes to seeing "The Twins" fighting side-by-side...

Alexandra Daddario would make a pretty good SW... then again, she'd make a pretty good anything...

One might wonder if the character would have been cut if it was a young boy? hmmmmm

I thought Bryan was going to have nothing to do with this movie or something like that.

Then what he is doing in this movie? o_O Yeah next time just give him a good costume that doesn't try too hard to emphasize the fact that he's called 'Quicksilver'.Whatever...

i heard QS has only a small amount of screentime such as them recruiting him and then breaking out magneto is the screentime he has,is that true? while i may not dig his look, he seems to be a collector plus it is the 70s so him having a silver jacket makes sense and im digging his personality

He's probably being introduced in this film so that you won't have to take out that much time to drag/set up his character in apocalypse.

I wonder if Joss would have NOT publicly Stated Very early on, while starting the script, That he planed on using the twins if Singer/Fox would have even bothered with them?

So Quicksilver really is just in it for the sake of being in it in competition with Age of Ultron.

I wouldn't mind seeing Singer's Pietro in the next spy kids film. He'd fit right in;)

@MrBlackJack He did that because of the assumptions that the little girl was Wanda.

@wayne..I'm 100% in agreement with you. They have raped the xmen. Sony and Marvel have has well but it's done so much better, especially marvel, that it doesn't nearly take as much away from the characters. It's an understanding that Fox lax.

@ezio619

Singer stated in the Empire Magazine release earlier this year or late last year that his character would only be in one beat within the film of course the scene that you mentioned.

also apparently, QS was a replacement character in that originally his part in the storyline was suppose to be a young Juggernaut
