DARK PHOENIX: Magneto And Professor X Face-Off In This First Clip From Fox's Final X-MEN Movie

20th Century Fix has debuted the first full clip from what has now been confirmed as the studio's final X-Men film, Dark Phoenix.

In it, Charles Xavier, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler confront Magneto and Beast as they're making their way to wherever Jean Grey is holed up, and Eric makes it abundantly clear that they're not there to talk things out.

Will this confrontation erupt into full-scale mutant conflict on the streets of New York as Charles predicts?

In DARK PHOENIX, the X-MEN face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite — not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

Starring James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and Evan Peters, the film is set to be released on June 7 in the UK (as X-Men: Dark Phoenix) and the U.S.

RealD 3D

This RealD 3D poster revisits the eye motif of the recent Black Hole promo image, as several of Jean Grey's former friends and teammates are reflected in her powerful peepers.

We know the fury of the Phoenix Force will claim the life of Mystique, but are any of the others destined for fiery ends?

IMAX

Speaking of which, this striking IMAX poster for the movie sees Jean standing atop a mountain of ash and debris.

Can we expect to see The Dark Phoenix burn it all down like Daenerys did on last night's episode of Game of Thrones?

Dolby

The Dolby exclusive poster features a very comic book-inspired look at most of the main team members standing together, while Jean Grey floats above in Dark Phoenix mode, destroying the iconic X-Men logo.

Any chance this movie doesn't suck? Would love to see such a great cast not wasted for once.

Something is really odd with McAvoy's performance to me. I can't put my finger on it but I feel it.

Prediction: This movie will be decent/pretty good, but still bomb and everyone will say they hate it.

@RorMachine - I think (like the best movies) people want these superhero flicks to really move them and connect on a deeper and emotional level.

I'm sure on pretty much every technical aspect Dark Phoenix will be fine, but I think you have people saying they don't care about this movie is really quite telling: they literally do not care. About the worldbuilding, the characters, the actors, all that stuff. At least I'd speak for myself anyway. I haven't cared since X-Men 3.
