Darren Aronofsky Talks More About His Plans For The Wolverine!

The director discusses how work on the upcoming sequel that's not a sequel is going, briefly shares his thoughts on Hugh Jackman and the script and says that the movie will be a "little bit different"...

"To be honest, I haven't really started working on it. I haven't even started to put my brain into it."

"'Black Swan' comes out Friday, so I've been really focused on that, but in about three weeks I'll start to dive in and start to figure it out. I have a feeling that by the time I get done with it, it will be something a little bit different."

"I thought the script was great and I love Hugh Jackman, so we'll see where it goes. But I don't have any tidbits — you're not going to get anything out of me. I have nothing to say because I really haven't started to get into it."

Color me super pissed that they keeping asking him the same question, and not something he *might* actually be able to talk about, like WHEN we might expect the film.

This movie will be off the hook, yes I just said off the hook.
The Fountain was pretty weird.
Pi,Requiem for a Dream, and The wrestler were just fantastic though.
I haven't seen Black Swan yet, but I have heard good things.

Why not keep this as a sequel just for continuity's sake? So are we supposed to remember the events of Xmen but forget Origins? Or is this a complete Wolverine reboot? I don't understand what he's trying to do.

I didn't watch the video so that might answer my question, but is that Anne Hathaway in the backround..her boobs are a more interesting story than that Micheal Bay bs kept being posted. I think, whenever someone finds something on Michael Bay that person should just post a story on Anne's boobs as default....no??

Oh and I'm wicked excited for this. Until I SEE proof this will suck gonads like the first one I will expect great things from this team!!!

@ ShadowVoyd Thanks for the info, I read a bit of the Weapon X/Wolverine Comics heading into the Japan stories but didn't realise it was so self contained. So what about the ending in Origins where he indicates he's headin to Japan. Do we disregard this or choose to follow this and then disregard what happens in The Wolverine as a one off? I think it would help if we knew if Jackman was sticking around for future movies.

He's probably been too busy giving mustache rides and high fives after mustache rides to even think about a script.

"it will be something a little bit different."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Make it A LOT different!
Make it a whole new different film!
Completely disregard the first movie!

Then I'll watch it.
If it's only "a little bit different" then...

Good for you Darren!!
--not that he needs my approval...but he seems to be a film maker with integrity (like Nolan)...and i'm hoping thats why Hugh Jackman got him on board. I'm hoping he maintains his integrity as a film maker for Wolverine. I think he will. and i think when he says 'a little different' he's saying 'A LOT different'. ...subtext.

Something a little different? Maybe Aronofsky will have the courage to do it: Wolverine shunning his violent ways in order to realize his lifelong dream- to star in a Broadway musical!

I can't understand how you souless dick heads didn't find the "The Fountain" to be a masterpiece. It's a film about a man who wants to find a "cure" to death because his wife is dying of cancer. Silmultaneously his wife is writing a novel with a similar premise about a Spaniard during colonial/the inquisition times who is in love with the Queen of Spain and gets sent to the "new world" to find the lost garden of Eden that is suppose to he hidden among the new founded Mayan Kingdoms. The garden of eden is suppose to have the tree of life, which will give immortality to anyone that consumes it. This movie was a poetic masterpiece and one of the best films i have ever seen. Americans are so empty and dumb minded...all you guys care about is your consumer culture bullshit. watch when The Wolverine comes out, you will all be on Aaron's dick...
