As most of us know, Kitty Pryde (aka Shadowcat) plays an integral role in the events of Chris Claremont's Days Of Future Past comic arc. Given that, fans might have expected the character to appear in Bryan Singer's movie, but considering the actress who played Kitty previously did so under Brett Ratner for X-Men 3, it was a surprise when it was announced that Singer had brought Ellen Page on board..and not only for us -- it seems Page was just as shocked. “I didn’t know for that long. I knew they were kind of doing it, but I didn’t expect it," the actress reveals to Collider. "I didn’t expect to play Kitty Pryde again, so when that came up and I met with Bryan, because I didn’t work with Bryan I worked with Brett Ratner, it was just awesome. I feel so grateful to be back… Really, truly, it’s not like something I’ve known for a year by any means. I really didn’t know that long before we went to shoot.”

Here's the video interview, in which page also discusses Singer's habit of Tweeting out images from the production (our first look at Page as Pryde included) and shooting the movie in 3D using the simul-cam technology.
