Okay, we won't keep you in suspense any longer: At the Girls premiere, Jonigkeit revealed to MTV that he would be playing a younger Toad in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.

"It's a really incredible thing to be a part of. I was so stoked to be working with all of these people. It was a really crazy experience. I read a lot of the comic books. I found out the storyline of my character, who is Toad. X-Men fans will know that Ray Park played him in the first movie, so it's a generation story of how he came to be. It's really cool. The aesthetics of the character are much different, and I'm not really allowed to say a whole lot more than that. It's darker. I would say it's a darker tone."

This is very interesting, as it suggests that we'll see the younger Magneto (Michael Fassbender) begin to assemble the "Brotherhood Of Mutants" that we see him lead in X-Men. Obviously we already have Mystique, and that only leaves Sabertooth - played by both Tyler Mane in X-Men, and then by Liev Schrieber in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Even those that revile that latter movie tend to admit Schrieber did a fine job as Victor Creed, so this would be a great chance for him to reprise the role - probably wishful thinking though. What do you guys make of this?

Toad's one of my favourite X-Villains. I'd love to see Iceman take him on.

agree with a previous comment, this is clearly giving more continuity and a full circle to the universe.

if we see another younger version from original trilogy, it would be pretty cool, not to mention that the 70's brotherhood would be spot on

I liked Tests portrayal better. Liev was too goofy...and....well...too short. Lol. I wanted to hear him call Wolvie runt. I liked Tests personality too. He did come off as just a lackey in the first film, but they could of fleshed him out more in Origins. Something about Liev Schieber just wasn't intimidating.

Will we see a 1970s xmen in this movie too?

Why do they always say these X-films will be 'darker in tone' to try to appeal to people wanting a more serious and less 'PG-13' X-film, only to give us the same tone as all of the other messy films?

Remember when 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' was being touted by Hugh Jackman as being darker, serious, and the story the fans deserve?

Then we got this neutered bloodless nonsensical crap:

He later admitted the film fell short. As if he didn't realize it before release.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Really? Are you [frick]ing kidding me? You putting the word spoiler in the article title implies that it was going to be someone people actually gave a flying [frick] about? The anger I had expecting Cyclops and then seeing that it was toad was extreme for a second or two.

sabretooth should have been in all three original x-men movies, and he should have been done justice not that shit we got in x-1.

@JoJo1982

Im having that feeling too.

So right now it is:

Magneto
Mystique
Quicksilver
Toad

and something tells me another member too

so.... this can only mean that Singer has some X-Men in store too.

Im intrigued!

@gam

Yeah nobody didn't think toad was going to be in the movie

Singer or the ppl behind this movie haven't said anything about it
It was all thanx to a actor blabbing his mouth on who he is playing

There maybe hope that we might see some other mutant characters that had yet to be announced or better yet pop up in the movie
