Jason Flemyng Not Returning For X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Those who were hoping to see Azazel in the upcoming X-Men sequel Days Of Future Past may be in for a disappointment. Actor Jason Flemyng, who brought the character to life in First Class, has revealed that he will not be back for the second installment.

A number of actors from the previous X-Men trilogy have been confirmed for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. However, you can count out one person who was involved in First Class. Actor Jason Flemyng told Independent.IE that he doesn't think that he will be back for the movie. "I don’t think I will be back. Initially I was gutted, but then, I remembered I had to get up at two in the morning, I had to be painted red and be slightly out of focus and posed a lot, and that was sort of it. Now I don’t have to do that," explained Flemming. He went on to say that he is disappointed to not be working with the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, and James McAvoy, but thinks they will have a good time.

With the movie scheduled to shoot very soon, and Flemyng not hearing anything about needing to be ready to film, it is probably a safe bet that you can expect not to see him. However, we do live in an age of denial, and this could just be a tactic to throw us off. Whatever the case may be you can catch X-Men: Days Of Future past when it opens on July 18, 2014.

One of the coolest parts of that movie was when he was teleporting agents into the sky and dropping them. But as a character, it's not like he did anything.

This movie proves how loyal CBM fans can be, when we are interested in a film that exists to tie together the extremely messy story of 5 mainly-sub par films

solution: azrael and nightcrawler never existed in either movies. don't have to worry about them being explained in DOFP. lol watch them actually do that!

If he's not important then why include him in the first place? The same with Angel Salvatore?

Sounds like they didn't know what they were doing with First Class.

I'll be dissapointed if he doesnt return. Is a cool mutant and power, and his connection to Mystique and Kurt is really interesting to me, would love to see it adressed somehow on the movie universe
we'll see what happens

Like I've said, this movie sounds more like X-Men 4.

Aww, it's a shame.
Jason Flemyng is a talented man, it's a shame they didn't show off his acting skills much in the film. I'd hoped that the sequel would have done that.

Well this [frick]in' suxz...Thanks for taking the best part of First Class away from the sequel...No Azazel, No Nightcrawler...but you bring back horrible characters like Barry's Storm and Anna's Rogue...this movie is really sitting on the fence with me...Holding-off final judgement for a trailer...but so far this is becoming very painful to read about...If it wasn't for the possibility of finally seeing Sentinels...and a maybe connection to the Fantastic Four...I would have lost all hope with the return of the God awful Halle Barry...

Okay, skip him for Days of Future Past, but how about bringing him back for DOFP's sequel (if there is one, that is)

I'm sure he banged Mystique off screen so whatever, he's expendable in that case.

I thought he was there because of Mystique and Nightcrawler. If he's not in, hope we will hear something from Mystique about him and Kurt.

It's because of that seed he left. Can't be villain and a dad at the same time.

Maybe i'm wrong but isn't Azazel a demon rather than a mutant in the comics?

He's cool enough to be the main villain in an X-Movie, not just a henchmen

I liked Azazel for what he was, but if I never see his character again I won't cry (then again I won't cry over any of these characters). I'm still staying on record hat I'm not entirely convinved this movie is going ot be as good as a lot of folks think it will be.

So he won't be shacking up with Mystique. This meaning no birth of Night Crawler as of yet.

One word: RECAST! Too cool of a character to waste/write out, especially if you go with the the Night-Crawler-is-his-son thing.

He's one cool looking character.

BTW I think he's saying that Azazel will not be in DOFP.
He's not saying they're recasting him.

Who isn't returning to play what? Yeah, don't care to see him return, it's already way to many charactors.
gambgel
gambgel - 3/7/2013, 12:08 PM
he says he has kids and wouldnt like to be so far from home 6 months, but his role wouldnt require all that time, he could appear three times during the whole movie having a great action fight and thats it, perfect, that would keep the continuity with FC without droping too much characters/actors from the prequel

What's up with Fox and cutting teleporters out of sequels? Maybe we'll at least get an explanation this time? Or better yet, Nightcrawler in his place?
gambgel
gambgel - 3/7/2013, 1:14 PM
the issue with teleporters is that realistically, they could kill a president or a senator in a matter of seconds, so maybe that's one of the reasons he is out.

Because if the brotherhood has to kill someone on the goverment, both Mystique and him would kill him pretty fast, so the movie could be done too early, lol.

Thats one of the main problems with x-men universe somehow, too many powerfull mutans that could do dangerous things pretty quickly, so I guess the writers have a hard time trying to avoid the audience's obvious question: Why didnt this mutant do that, instead of all that other stuff from everyone else?
StarkRaving
StarkRaving - 3/7/2013, 1:15 PM
I'm sure no one decided, "let's cut all the teleporters out of sequels." They are going to put in the characters needed to tell the story that they are going to tell.
