Mystique favored the au naturale look in the early X-Men movies, but -- aside from a few shots -- the less sure of herself version of the character we met in Matthew Vaughan's X-Men: First Class still wore cloths, even when she took her blue form. Well, that's all about to change in Bryan Singer's follow up! We previously heard that this time around Lawrence would be wearing a body suit to limit the time needed to be spent in the makeup chair, but apparently there will still be quite a bit of paint used too. In the following interview with Sci-Fi Now, Jennifer Lawrence also reveals that it won't just be Raven's appearance that changes (leaked set images reveal a slightly darker blue -- more akin to Rebecca Romijn’s Mystique) but also teases her development as a character.
"I’m naked. But when I do get to wear clothes, I love the ’70s outfits. Some of the Mystique look is a little different, but we’re still using the same paint. But she’s different in this film too. She was struggling – like a lot of normal humans – with the way she looked, and she was covered up a lot in the first movie, but this time she is Mutant and proud."
I think it's safe to assume from this and the recent production snaps posted by Bryan Singer, that we are in for a much more confident, physical raven Darkholme in
Days Of Future Past.
