Casting for FOX's upcoming prequel to the previous trilogy," X-Men: First Class" doesn't seem to be relaxing, with three cast members announced just yesterday.
And now,
Deadline is reporting that Kevin Bacon has been offered a role and is negotiating to play the villain in "X-Men: First Class." Unsure of his character, and they have to make his deal.
Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominated, Kevin Bacon is most known for his roles in
Animal House, Footloose, Flatliners, A Few Good Men, Apollo 13, Mystic River, The Woodsman, Friday the 13th, Hollow Man, and
Tremors. Turning 52 just yesterday, Bacon can been seen in James Gunn's upcoming
Super with a mystery release date.
But the big mystery is who exactly would Bacon portray out of the mutant villains in the X-Men universe. Back in 09' when Bryan Singer was attached to direct "First Class," he said there will be a lot of new mutants and ONE great villain.
If and when a deal is made, Kevin Bacon joins James McAvoy (Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Alice Eve (Emma Frost), Nicholas Hoult (Beast),Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), and Lucas Till (Havok). And filming begins August in London, and the film hits theaters July 3rd next year.
DCMF - With many villains in store, there are a few top X-Men villains, who have yet to make a big screen appearance. They are The Shadow King, Proteus, Apocalypse, and Mister Sinister. Though Bacon is an odd choice for any of them, I can see his playing the leader of the "Hellfire Club," Sebastian Shaw. Who do you think this great villain could be?
