Rose Byrne Reiterates That Moira MacTaggert "Is Not Part Of X-MEN: DOFP's Story"

It wasn't too long ago that Rose Byrne said that she hadn't been asked to return for X-Men: Days of Future Past, but now that production is well underway, the Australian actress has confirmed that CIA agent Moira MacTaggert is NOT part of this story.

There have been a lot of new additions to the cast of Bryan Singer's X-Men: First Class sequel, but the cost of that was an awful lot of cuts too. Say goodbye to January Jones' 'Emma Frost' and Caleb Landry Jones' 'Banshee', not to mention Jason Flemyng's 'Azazel' and Zoë Kravitz's 'Angel Salvadore'. However, we can now add Rose Byrne's 'Moira MacTaggert' to that list. While she's said numerous times that she hadn't been asked to reprise the role, a Tweet from Singer featuring CIA documents led many to believe that there would be a chance that the actress would in fact return for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Nope. "Moira is not part of the story, sadly," Bryne confirmed to MTV Splash Page recently. "But I'm excited to see it!" Unlike the characters mentioned above, at least Moira's exclusion makes SOME sense as Charles Xavier wiped her mind at the conclusion of the last movie. Hopefully we'll get some sort of explanation for the rest too!
