THE WOLVERINE Reshoots May Reveal Surprise Cameo From [REDACTED]

With Hugh Jackman up in Montreal shooting X-Men: Days of Future Past, reshoots for The Wolverine have also been taking place. If the following is to be believed, it sounds as if they've shot an after-credits scene with a surprise cameo setting up the "inbetweequel".

JoBlo reveals that additional scenes for The Wolverine were being filmed in Montreal on Sunday and it appears as if Professor X will be making a cameo appearance in the X-Men: The Last Stand sequel. Their sources tell them that it took place at an airport and sounds, "like it appears at the end of the movie, possibly when Wolverine returns from Japan." Considering the fact that Xavier dies in the Brett Ratner helmed movie, how exactly Patrick Stewart appears in both this and X-Men: Days of Future Past is unclear, although a popular guess is that he will simply use his psychic powers to make the comatose body he inhabited appear to others as his former self. Regardless, here's their description of the scene that was filmed. What do you guys think?

So according to our source, the airport scene involves Wolverine....and Professor X. The new scene has the two of them walking into the airport and then going into a freeze frame. The source goes on to say that while things could always change, this is what he/she witnessed and was told on the set of the re-shoot.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

STARRING:

Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine
Hiroyuki Sanada as Shingen Yashida
Hal Yamanouchi as Yashida
Tao Okamoto as Mariko Yashida
Rila Fukushima as Yukio
Will Yun Lee as Kenuichio Harada

Sounds fairly legit for them to be connected and Bryan Singer has already stated that he will be rewriting some of the storylines from the Last Stand.

The comatose body is his twin brother in the comics, so it already looks like him and can walk.

I'm really curious to see how much of handle they have on the continuity of this franchise. Honestly, if these two movies fail, we may not see another X movie for a while.

At this point all I want to see is Wolverine in the mask and some form of his comic book costume one time even if it is just the ending of a movie. There has got to be a way to make the costume look great on screen.

@jasonicus you do know The Wolverine takes place AFTER X-Men: The Last Stand? Plus Singer said he's not ignoring the other X films...including X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Maybe it will be something like Logan sees Charles and is surprised and asks how can it be real and Charles explains something like the past is being altered. With his telepathy Charles can tell some of these things and understand why he is not dead and seeks out Logan to get him ready for the coming days ahead with the sentinels. Kind of like Wolverine and the X-men. But this falls in between the different times that Days of Future Past. Charles is already aware of the warning since They know something is up in the past and Charles is still trying to stop it from happening.

Xavier never died, he transferred his consciousness- the body in X3 was his brain-dead twin brother, which already looks exactly like him.

jasonicus - "The Last Stand never happened. Singer won't even acknowledge it I bet and for good reason."

If that's the case then there are certain characters in X3 that need some explanation. Kitty is gonna pop out of nowhere, played by the same actress, and resume her relationship with Iceman, because so far there's no sign of Rogue.

Moria in X3 is linked to the Xavier twin brother theory, because she and Xavier's twin are not referenced in X1 or X2.

Sorry but it looks like X3 is in!

Xavier looks like Hugo Weaving in that pic...interesting,that would have been my pick to play Professor X back in the day when the first X-Men movie came out.

They obviously can't ignore X3 entirely. In a way, this'll probably be Singer's grand finale to his X-Men films. He's building a massive cast, a massive plot with awesome aspects like sentinels and time travel, and from then on, the series may continue with the young cast of Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy.

In the comics Prof X was in a cloned body. His twin was Cassandra Nova. That's a little too complicated for the movie so it would make sense for them to change it to his twin brother.

whatever the after credits is, I just hope Wolverine isnt the one to save the day on Days of future past.

A movie with 20 Great characters shouldnt allow to Wolverine being the one and only hero.

X-Men are a team, so I really really hope the other x-men shine too, specially Kitty, Colossus, Iceman and Rogue.
TheFox
TheFox - 5/8/2013, 10:23 AM
Wait... the TWO of them "walking" into an airport?

Is that some kind of sick joke?

Anyway, like the Guardians of the Galaxy stinger rumor from Iron Man 3, I'll believe this when I see it (but I don't think I will).
