Was the guy on the left drunk while watching the film? It seems like he missed all of the major beats in the plotline. Viper didn't steal his powers, but simply suppressed his healing abilities (which she blatantly points out). Wolverine doesn't fall for Mariko because she was treated, but rather because they share each other's pain. They're both loners who don't make friends easily.

Now, I can understand the confusion about the the Silver Samurai's armor being made out of adamantium (to the general audience, at least). The films never explicitly state that adamantium is the only metal that can damage adamantium, a fact only the readers would know.

As soon as the guy said that he liked X Men Origins better I had stopped watching the review.

I like both films. Origins has its FX issues and yeah, Deadpool sucked but overall it was decent. The Wolverine was a good film and better than IM3 or MoS IMO.

I know these are their opinions. They're entitled to that. I don't even necessarily disagree with them usually. But what bothers me in their more recent reviews is how they blatantly miss the most basic plot points or dialogue in the movies they review. There are several instances where they criticize a movie for something that isn't accurate. I almost get the feeling that they spend more time talking about how dumb a movie is while watching it as opposed to just watching it. In any other circumstance I don't care if you don't want to pay attention to a movie. But when you're someone who tries to be some kind of film critic then it behooves you to pay attention to what you're watching so you can discuss it intelligently. It's a shame really. Their reviews of the the Star Wars/Trek films are very detailed and insightful. But my appreciation for their insights had dwindled especially in this last bunch of reviews they've done.

You guys, they are JOKING. he doesn't really like either film, let alone Origins. They totally pause after he said that in an "ironic" way.

Yes, I know, having aspergers can make it difficult to pick up on social cues. They just want to structure the review in a "point-counter point" style.

Just got back from The Wolverine. WAY better than I expected, but still pretty weak overall. That 3rd act... and that broad who played Viper was terrible.

I loved The Wolverine!! 8/10 for me!! I'd like to see a possible "Wolverine: Weapon X" film next!! You know after the "thing" that happened in The Wolverine. And with Logan being sent back into the past in Days of Future Past this could be a good way to do a proper Weapon X film! What do you guys think???

I just watched The Wolverine today. 8/10. Way better than that trash movie before. Loved the after credits scene. Won't spoil it for ppl who haven't seen it. MOS and The Wolverine are the best CBMs so far. Fox finally did something right lol.

These guys are absolute idiots. They seriously need to do a little bit of research before reviewing these movies, particularly when these characters have existed for 30+ years. Neither if these clowns knew even the most basic aspects of Wolverine's character. "I don't know why he made an adamantium suit instead of just putting adamantium on his own bones". Because he doesn't have a healing factor to enable him to survive that, idiots. You would know that if you even paid attention to Origins. "And why was the robot a samurai anyway". Because its the Silver [frick]ing Samurai?!?! They didn't even know who the villain was supposed to be! Complete lack of doing your due-diligence before watching. [frick] these guys. They're ignorance and blatant stupidity gave me a headache.

Ugh... people are so quick to call critics "idiots" and "mongoloids" because they disagree with them...

Look, I haven't agreed with Mike and Jay on a few of their reviews (Man of Steel, for instance. And I didn't hate Into Darkness as much as they did, though I do agree with some of their criticisms; I just don't think they ruin the movie as much as they do). But one thing's for sure; these guys are honest and always back up their reasons for liking or disliking a movie.

Case in point: if you guys would actually pay attention, you'd notice that when Mike says he prefers Origins, he means in a schlocky bad-movie sort of way. He readily admits that The Wolverine is a better made film, but he personally has more guilty fun watching Origins... BECAUSE it's so bad. And while you or I are too busy complaining about their butt[frick]ing of Deadpool to be able to enjoy that movie in that way, I can actually see someone else enjoying it that way.

ESPECIALLY these guys; they love schlocky camp so much they have a whole other web-series about it (Best of the Worst, also often worth checking out).

The other thing to keep in mind is THESE GUYS AREN'T COMIC FANS. They're horror fans, they're Star Trek, Star Wars fanboys, but they both readily admit to never really reading any comics... that's why they bring in their buddy Rich Evans for their reviews of Amazing Spider-Man and Man of Steel. So, yeah, they didn't know that the reason the robot was a samurai was because it was supposed to be Silver Samurai... why? Because it's never actually brought up in the MOVIE. Which is, honestly, a fault of the movie.

If you make a film that is an adaptation of another medium and you don't accurately convey the reason behind one element of it (i.e., why there's a giant robot samurai), then you haven't done a good job. And while I liked The Wolverine mostly (I pretty much agree with Jay on this one), I too was unfamiliar with the Silver Samurai and didn't understand why there was suddenly a robot in my mostly grounded Japanese noir starring Wolverine.

These guys are not comic fans and not really critics. But that's why I watch them in the first place: to see what a regular joe thinks. The silver samurai is a case in point; I was too busy ragging on how dumb the adaptation was to remember how silly a robo-samurai must look to a non-initiated movie goer--especially given everything that came before that in the movie!

I'm gonna go ahead and say it, and you all can disagree all you want. Origins wasn't great but it's watchable. Does it have its problems, sure, but [frick] it. The wolverine was great, can't wait to see the unrated version.

Who cares if they're comic accurate? If you want that go read the comics. I'm just happy we get to see all of our favorite characters on the big screen. The basic elements are there that made us fall in love with them in the first place. What was your first reaction to seeing wolverine in a comic? "Holy shit that dude has claws coming out his hands and he's [frick]ing people up!" Last time I checked that's still the character. The details of everything else don't really matter because we're getting to see a live action big budget flick of the [frick]ing wolverine! Same goes for every other comic book movie we get. Never in a million years did I think we'd be getting iron mans, thors, or Spider-Mans. So I'm just loving the fact that I can enjoy my favorite characters in a new form of media. Plus they sure as hell beat the 80's attempt at live action superhero movies.

Alot of you need to lighten the hell up and take the sticks out of your asses. Mike admits right off the bat he is in the minority of liking Origins, admits it's terrible, and says Wolverine is still a well made movie and goes on to list his reasons for his opinion (something some of you throwing out names certainly can't do with some movies you pass judgement on yet havn't even seen). He never said it was a shitty movie, he never bashed it. Calm down.

And ontop of that I totally understand where Mike is coming from. I -enjoyed- Showgirls more than Casablanca. I am fully aware Showgirls is a complete shit, awful movie and Casablanca is not, but that does not mean I can't find more of a fun time watching the former.

Origins is flawed but honestly I like it and can watch it again and again. The Wolverine was a great film and when I get the DVD, I'll watch that over and over as well
