yeah man...I had my speculations about this movie, but after seeing the trailer, and all the other stuff, I can't wait for this movie. Gambit and Deadpool man, gunna be sick. I'm also excited for all the other characters too, i'm a Marvel fan, so i'm always excited when they bring new people onto the big screen

I still think this movie has way too much happening in it, and that is what scares me the most, if they don't handle it right it could destroy the whole movie.

Also... and I know everyone will hate me for this... the Wolverine jumping to the helicopter, looks like a scene from Bolt, and that for me really puts me off.
Gideon
Gideon - 1/21/2009, 8:11 PM
Unless I'm mistaken, I think he gets launched off his bike at the helicopter. I don't think he jumps.
TheShakeBake
TheShakeBake - 1/21/2009, 8:33 PM

Personally i wish that fat [frick] was nowere near this movie.

and i love the Launch at the Helicopter scene! Whats the big deal? how many times in the comic has Wolvie been flung, launched and hurtled around like that (usually by Collosus)

Hugh Jackman is the shit. I jumped out of my seat when he said he'd do it 4 more times. And of course it was like that when Gambit appeared, it went crazy in my hometown theater when the preview played during "The Day the Earth Stood Still" which is the only reason I went to see that movie. I cannot wait to see this movie.

When me and my friend Eric saw Gambit, I went nuts, while he just stood their gaping.

I hope in the sequal to this we'll see him journy to Japan and meet Silver Samurai, and we get to see his love afair with DeathStrike. I've been WAITING to see her again...RAW!

Now now Noob, it's not like there isn't any squid at the end. Oh wait... there isn't.
NoobMike
NoobMike - 1/22/2009, 3:24 PM
who launches him? Deadpool? Gambit? Silver Fox?

The only one I think could throw him would be Blob....or Gambit (with an explosion)but it seems way to complicated, still don't know. And really look at the scene from Bolt they look too much alike.

I like to be wary unless proven wrong. What makes me wary is that there seems to be too much going on for just one movie, and that could be this movie's downfall although I'm willing to be proven wrong.

As you so painfully point out, this movie doesn't have a squid in it. Guess I'll have to go watch that Disney 70's movie: 20,000 leagues under the sea to get my squid fix.

I'm hoping that when they make another that they show more weapon X missions, esp the one where they all go against Omega Red, I would love to see him whip around some ppl with his tentacles, and then if they ever make an X4 he could show up with his armor on and give Wolvie a hard time for not even being able to scratch him.

Noob,

Gideon pointed out earlier that he believes Wolverine is launched via motorbike at the helicopter ..

based on the trailer it looks like it may also be a jeep that launches him ..

"20,000 leagues"; lol!

All,

does anybody have any guesses as to what name the movie's gonna give Wolvie as a child?
mainlinx
mainlinx - 1/22/2009, 6:42 PM
James Howlett I imagine. What else would it be?
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 1/22/2009, 8:42 PM
A few frames before the "launch" we see wolvie on a motorbike, we then see him "launched" through the air as below him a motorbike collides with a jeep. Now im sure you dont need to be a physics major to figure out what happened there!

yeah should be Jimmy Howlett, unless they decide to keep the kid nameless

how about Hugh Jerrection? 'cause that's pretty much what any self-respecting x-men fan feels creeping in his drawers whenever he bares them claws. *snikt!*

...incidentally...not that i'm not totally psyched about this movie, but is anyone else as excited (if not more so) about the magneto origin movie? personally i can't wait to see him shove an iron cross through a nazi officer as only magneto can.

As long as i get to see some real violence, blood, guts, decent fight scenes and the sound of bony-ass claws piercing someone's innards....i'm good.
Shaman
Shaman - 1/23/2009, 8:51 AM
Thwip- I WAS exited about the Magneto origins movie until i heard that Goyer was directing it and also when he made public the "plot" of the movie which totally screws with the continuity of the already existing x-movies. It will be the WORST movie...worse than SR!!!
crappybumbum
crappybumbum - 1/23/2009, 10:59 PM
this movie will be sooooooooo awesome!!! I would be very surprised if it became a failure...
thwip
thwip - 1/24/2009, 11:20 AM
ah, i wasn't aware that the plot had already been announced. i'll have to research that. my first impression is, though, that he was one of the major writers for dark knight, and the writing was far and away the weakest aspect of that film. i really haven't seen too much of his directorial work.

...but by "SR" do you mean "speed racer?" because that, my shaman friend, was tied with incredible hulk for my second favorite movie of the summer. i realize that the special effects were a lolli-pop acid trip, but the two major race sequences still take my breath away even after watching it six times. plus, john goodman and susan sarandon are two of the most under-appreciated actors in the business, and i would give my left foot to make out with christina ricci.
DarthLogan
DarthLogan - 1/25/2009, 12:18 PM
Ror & Main,

i assume (and hope) they would give him the original name according to the comics, but i also wouldn't be surprised if they just kept him as Logan.

very correct you are, Ror, about the bike launch.
Shaman
Shaman - 1/26/2009, 9:14 AM
Thwip- Actually i was refering to Superman Returns. I totally agree with you on john goodman and susan sarandon!

The basic "idea" of his plot for Magneto is that early on in the origins, they'll develop a rivalry and become enemies near the end which is IDIOTIC since he has helped charles build cerebro and worked with him even after they recruited Jean Grey. That's the storyline they established in the first 3 movies and Goyer's f**king it up.

I just really hope this movie lives up to what we have been waiting for, as Wolvie fans. Done right, this could be incredible

BTW thwip - Im sorry, but Speed Racer was absolutely horrific, IMO. truly an awful movie... =0(
