X-MEN Parody: Professor Charles Xavier Fires Gambit

X-MEN Parody: Professor Charles Xavier Fires Gambit

Comedian Pete Holmes, made a name for himself with hilarious College Humor sketches that spoofed Batman. To draw interest for his upcoming show on TBS, "Pete Holmes Show," he has created a sketch poking fun of Gambit/Remy LeBeau, from the X-Men.

"The Pete Holmes Show" premieres October 28th after "Conan"
Weeknights at midnight/11 central.

Gambit has the mutant ability to tap into the potential energy contained within an object and transform it into kinetic energy upon touching it. When Gambit thus charges an object and throws it at a target, the object releases this energy explosively on impact. Gambit is unable to use this power to charge living objects. / As Death: He can control deadly gas.

Gambit also possesses a hypnotic charm that allows him to exert a subtle influence over any sentient mind. This power allows Gambit to compel others to believe what he says and agree with anything he suggests. More powerful minds have proven immune to Gambit's charm. - Marvel Wiki

How weird is it that this parody had a better version of Gambit than the actual movies?

Heh, my ex had a thing for Gambit. I always thought he was just kinda there to look cool and that was it. They are missing something kinda big though. He can charge anything - inanimate or not. He could hawk a loogie and spit it with the force of a bullet from a gun.

That would look hilarious and stupid, of course, but you know.

Tainted I think you are misinformed Gambit being one of my 10 favorite comic characters I should know. Gambit cannot do what you just mentioned. He can only charge inanimate objects.

He had a power up in one storyline where he became “The Sun God” and he could do some things like charge living animate objects by looking at them but the loogie thing is unheard of.

Wow, Gambit sucks? Eff you man...Gambit was a mother Effin pimp! By far my favorite character in elementary school. Gambit is a pimp. I've always wondered why a Gambit movie wasn't made. He is by far the most relatable character. The dude is shifty, has questionable morales, his superpowers can easily be challenged, so it's always a struggle to win one over a villain. This dude has what it takes to be the next Wolverine for Fox. With the right director, this guy could easily play the troubled hero with a past. Anytime he fights he's goanna have to work for it. He's not invincible and his superpowers don't have an infinite table to develop on. His powers are what they are. He's got to be a punisher, a Wolverine, a Tony Stark, everything, just to survive. The guy can die but he's a smooth talker, he will verbal judoe his way out of a situation and fight if necessary. Gambit is the shiznit!

I always thought it would have been cool if Sawyer from Lost would play Gambit in an x-men movie.

Aside from this comedy skit I think that we Gould all keep in mind that the Gambit in Fox's X-Men Universe is indeed alive within the 70's so perhaps we'll see Gambit team up with the X-Men in a future sequel eh?

As a Gambit fan (90s cartoon and comic books, not a shat movie version) and an even bigger X-Men fan (screw singer), I find this hilarious. His wolverine skit was also funny. The badman vids are even better.

I really don't want to find him funny, but I can't help it. He seems like the type of person I would find incredibly annoying in person, and I really got sick of the Batman skits he did over and over again, but he's actually pretty funny.
