Can someone please explain why it's taking so long for this to come out? The Rogue Cut was announced almost a year ago.

I know this totally takes a shit on the comics and isn't all action-y, but goddamn, this movie is amazing. Beautiful pacing, well written story, perhaps one of, if not THE BEST comic book cast ever, great special effects, and it probably has me crying every time (the scene where Mystique has a gun pointed at the president, and she and Eric have a moment.).

Needless to say, I look forward to this cut and Apocalypse. However, I am worried about the pacing with the Rogue Cut. DoFP was so well edited and paced. It just flowed so well. I'm worried adding all these scenes will make them feel out of place and just wonky.

If we could have the quality of directing of Singer with the writing of Whedon and the costumes and casting (though the X-Men movies have great casts, they aren't well-cast at times...) and storyline being handled by Marvel Studios, I would die of joy.

Singer is a DAMN good director, and his X-Men movies are no different. Again, they shit on the comics, but they are damn well made films, X2, First Class and DoFP mostly.

I wish they just rebooted it all with First Class (but made Eric bald). Just imagine the classic, first team against Magneto and the brotherhood of evil in the 60's. Then have a 70's film with Uncanny. Oh boy, that would be [frick]ing amazing. Especially if directed by Matthew Vaughn. First Class for sure adapted the tone and feel of the original comics.

I loved First Class so much, but what in the world made them pick Deadly Genesis as that film's plot template?
Everyone haaaaated that story. And they even threw in Chuck Austen's Azazel! Yuck! Nightcrawler's dad should have been John Wraith, like in the Wolverine video game.

I'm curious to see if the Rogue Cut will be better than the theatrical release, either way, I can't wait!
