Okay its bugging me now, I really don't like the blue texture they have used on her, it actually looked like her skin in first class, but now it looks like they have used paint toddlers use, looks too shiny to be skin

@ManofSteel22 wow, nitpick much. Her make-up in this one is a considerable improvement from First Class. Did you see her forehead in first class it was out of control. Also, Beast looks considerably better.

Unlucky Bryan Singer, this will be your biggest hit and you're forced to watch everyone else lap it up in the spotlight while you lurk in the shadows.

Mystique is overdone in the X-Men movies, damn I hope we don't get that solo outing, so many more characters deserve the big screen!

Can't wait to see BISHOP in this but wont hold my hopes up that the characters will be treated with more respect in this one.

It would be nice if Bishop mentions the "traitor." If you know, you know what I'm talking about.

@DeadpoolCBM: Initially, Bishop thought it was Gambit. But it turned out to be Xavier, who after having mind-wiped Magneto, turned into the villain Onslought who killed Juggernaut and then went on to slaughter many of earth's heroes.

This is why Bishop even matters in the X-Men comics. Without this history or some version of it, he's just window dressing.

This trailer makes it look like Mystique is the star of the film - they're playing up Jennifer Lawrence just because she's a big star - but it's an obvious cut-and-paste job. They make it look like Wolverine is telling her that he needs her to bring them all together, when in previous ads he was saying that to Charles. I bet they did this ad so they could target JL fans and the young female demographic.

@DemonsHead

I agree with you. Still don't dig Jen Lawrence in the role. Rebecca Romijn was so good, I'm not sure if Lawrence can pull it off like Romijn did.

She's just okay for me as Mystique. Lawrence isn't really a big star as far as I see it. She is very recognizable for the Hunger Games, in the same way Kristen Stewart was for Twilight, but I chalk that up to the popularity of the novels and not who was cast in the films. I will say Lawrence is a much better actor than Stewart, not that that is a raining endorsement or anything. She couldn't carry a film by herself if it was a relatively unknown property.

Academy award winner and nominee at her age... She's a star
ThrotTheUnclean
ThrotTheUnclean - 4/30/2014, 9:07 AM
I think Jaden Smith would be a good Mystique. Maybe in a reboot.

@Ranger14 I agree with you about JLaw to an extent. She certainly got popular because of Hunger Games, which is similar to twilight. She is a way better actress than Kristen Stewart. But I think she could headline her own film and it would do fine. She has done it pretty much with Hunger Games already. She did extremely well in Silver Linings Playbook, she was good in American Hustle. Maybe you don't see her as a big star because she is relatively new to Hollywood. But I think most people already see her as a huge star and I think she is probably going to remain one.
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 4/30/2014, 9:47 AM
Well, she may be a "star" but not necessarily a "big star". My opinion. I could rattle off a long list of Academy Award winners that most wouldn't even recognize the names. Winning an award does not make you a big star. I liken it to the NBA. You have your big stars like LeBron, Kobe, Kevin Durant, etc. and then you have your regular "stars", which there are a number of.

I don't see her as a huge star, because I don't find her acting talent to be that exceptional. There's a difference between being highly recognizable and being a big star, but I'm one who thinks people over-glamorize Hollywood as it is.

@ranger14-I am going to have to disagree somewhat. Jenifer Lawrence is an excellent actress in my opinion. I think Winters Bone and of course Silver Linings Playbook proved this. She was also vey good in American Hustle.

I thought she was solid as Mystique in the first film albeit, not a standout, but she doesn't have to be with that part...

I love how they are Marketing the same basic scenes over and over. This is usually a good sign...
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 4/30/2014, 11:32 AM
Azazel1@ Like everything here, it is all based on personal opinion. I have acknowledged she is a good actress, but I personally don't find her "exceptional" or excellent. To each their own.

I quit watching the marketing after the first trailer because marketing for films nowadays gives away too much for my taste. Once could argue marketing the same basic scenes might not be a good sign, as that could indicate they don't have much else to pull from. Jam all the good scenes in a trailer and show select good clips and wullah...you have people thinking they are going to see much more. In this case, I hope you are right though.
Azazel1
Azazel1 - 4/30/2014, 10:36 PM
It could be but I doubt it. I think they have their best scenes still to be revealed...
