Every year, the Q Scores company measures the likability and recognizability of different actors and actresses. This year Lucy star Morgan Freeman and X-Men: Days of Future Past star Jennifer Lawrence came out on top with the highest Q Scores for male and female summer movie stars respectively.

Other CBM stars that finish with high Q scores include:

X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman & Michael Fassbender
Guardians of the Galaxy stars Vin Diesel Bradley Cooper
Edge of Tomorrow star Tom Cruise
Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg
Maleficent star Angelina Jolie
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Emma Stone
Jupiter Ascending star Mila Kunis
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For star Jessica Alba
Lucy star Scarlett Johansson

CBM stars that finish with low Q scores include:

Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-JohnsonElizabeth Olsen
Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt Zoe Saldana
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For star Josh Brolin
X-Men: Days of Future Past star James McAvoy
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Andrew Garfield
Edge of Tomorrow star Emily Blunt
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Will Arnett & Megan Fox
Jupiter Ascending star Channing Tatum

*However, before you jump to conclusions, it must be noted that likability and recognizability alone often do not translate directly to box office success.*

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Q Scores, here is The Wrap's description of what a Q Score is and how it works:

Q Score is a widely utilized research tool used by TV networks as well as studios in determining how favorably or unfavorably celebrities are viewed by consumers and here's how it works: Q Scores executive VP Henry Schafer's Q Score team provides a celebrity's name and a brief description to more than 1,800 viewers. The viewers are asked if they recognize the person, and how they feel about him or her.

So the obvious choice is to combine the two and put Freeman in the next XMen flick and with all the continuity issues the series has had he's a perfect fit to become Jubilee.

The ones with low Q scores are bull.
I really like Andrew Garfield, James McAvoy, Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Olsen (last two are especially likeable). Jessica Alba coming out on top? That doesn't add up.

Lawrence is up there mainly due to her association with Hunger Games. Seeing Kevin Hart as second for the males made me laugh and roll my eyes. More recognized than some of,the other males? Who are these people they are surveying? Lol

Jennifer Lawrence is consistently awesome, and hot as hell IMO. But honestly Mcavoy stole the show for me. I can't wait until Frankenstein comes out now.

And this is what I’ve been saying all along why TWS overachieved initial box office projections - Scarlett Johansson.

Not to mention Robert Redford & Samuel L Jackson didn’t hurt either. The female attendance was about 15% higher for TWS compared to other CBM so Scarlett was a HUGE draw. The older audience (45+) was about 7% higher for TWS compared to other CBM which can be attributed to Redford.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happier than a pig in $$$$ TWS did so well but my selfish side wishes Cap himself was the main draw to all this money. I just wish it was more of a solo Captain America effort that was the draw.

I said in my initial review of TWS it seemed more like a mini Avengers movie with three stars having just a big a role as Cap (in Johansson’s case bigger). I also said it should have been called Avengers: Secret of Shield. It likely would have made a few hundred million more with Avengers in the title so why not.

Same is occurring with DOFP & Lawrence. Throw in the all star cast of Jackman, Fassbender, Berry, Stewart & McAvoy and you have yourself a blockbuster for sure. Difference between DOFP & First Class was Lawrence & Jackman being the leads.

Glad there was some sort of analysis released to backup my theory on Johansson & Lawrence so nobody can argue what their presence means to these movies.

I’m pleased with the success of these movies for sure but it also makes me realize how good Thor: TDW, TDK / TDKR & MOS did at the box office without having one of these top ‘Q’ rated actors / actresses involved in their movies.
