Possible X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Plot Points Revealed

Somebody over at the forums of www.Comicbookresources.com posted spoilers for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Take it with a grain of salt, but there's certainly some very interesting and exciting things that may transpire in the film. Hit the jump for more.

The most interesting of all this is that Rogue may still appear in the film even though director Brian Singer came out publicly and said her character was cut out of the film entirely. I'll take his word for now. Remember folks, take this with a huge grain of salt. Reading all this makes me even more pumped for the film. It has potential to be one of the best comic book movies ever made and even top X-Men 2 which as of now is my favorite X-Men film. I hope Brian Singer can top X-Men or at least match its quality with DOFP. What doyou guys think? Leave your thoughts in the usual place.

"The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The beloved characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class, in an epic battle that must change the past -- to save our future."

X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender,, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Hoult, Omar Sy, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Adan Canto, Fan Bingbing, Anna Paquin, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Ellen Page & Booboo Stewart. The film hits theaters May 23, 2014."

Must not read

Read it sounds true I may have ruined a lot of the movie for me
But I've never resisted a spoiler

If these are true...

- That's a bit sad about Wolverine's consciousness remaining in 70's... Because now they have a [frick]ing excuse for him to be the frontman in X-Men: Apocalypse.

- Rogue flying and punching? Hope there weren't any rights issues involved :P Also, it seems that she plays a big role with the Sentinels, so why is she being cut from the damn movie?

- Man I am glad that there are 2 different timelines...

- Cannonball sounds cool but unfortunately another redshirt.

- Young Jean Grey is a good move.

Oh and what's that about young Beast and old Mystique... Is Romjin back?

it was my understanding the timeline does NOT fracture but proactively alters the outcome of the mutant war, shifting a bleak, dystopic future into a shining utopian future of mutant peace. this is how the Fan4 get introduced, aren't they the product of an advanced era of scientific optimism? these spoilers don't really account for everything do they..

I don't know. If Rouge is so important to the plot, doesn't sound like she would be cut. This sounds awesome but must take it with a grain of salt. Although I'm hoping for it to be true! Bring it ON!

Wolverine as a horseman? Alrighty then...
Giznad
Giznad - 1/28/2014, 5:23 PM
But if Wolverine becomes Death, I guess Archangel wouldn't be Death. Or Gambit for that matter. But that's cool. Could you imagine Wolverine in villainous role? It might not be Hugh Jackman in that case.

Singer has said that Wolverine is the "observer" and that changes to the original/future timeline as a result of changes to the past will not happen or be seen until Wolverine's mind goes back to his original mind/body. So Wolverine will not be left in a comatose state.

2016 might be one of the best. X-Men Apocalypse, BvS, 2 Marvel Films, TASM 3, Star Trek 3 (most likely), Pirates 5, Warcraft, Planets of the Apes 3, Independence Day 2, and Avatar 3.

Ocelot

He also said that whatever Wolverine prevents in the past, won't actually happen until he returns back to the future.

So... yeah.

Aahh I guess Jean and Scott are going to have to remain dead seeing that the concept isn't like a time machine where you can jump back and fourth between multiple past dates.. They send him back once and that's it.. I'd still like to see them try and fix Cyclops and Jean. Does anyone have any idea how Wolverine could still prevent that?
XelCorp
XelCorp - 1/28/2014, 5:51 PM
I'm also guessing Singer wants to save the trailer for release around Super Bowl time.. Everyone else (Sony, Marvel/Disney ect...). Will gearing up with promotion so I guess Fox wants to wait until then?

Honestly, after seeing those Ninja Turtles, I think this year could very easily be the best year for CBMs we've gotten so far

I'm starting to think Singer may have decided not to cut Rogue after all. I mean, she's on the Empire cover, trailer, and is mentioned in these rumors.

@OldGreg- well hopefully they bring them back somehow. I just havnt really gotten the ""X-men"" vibe for awhile. It's not as good without Mutants like Cyclops, Jean, Nightcrawler and Sabertooth, what the [Frick] happened to Sabertooth? To know that we have only gotten him in TWO movies that don't even feel CONNECTED is pretty sad. He is a character that deserves more than that along with Nightcrawler
