What's your favorite scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past? There are a lot to choose from, but most people would answer the Pentagon kitchen scene featuring 'Quicksilver' (Evan Peters) and his mutant-speed. It is visually stunning as the speedster races around the set disarming the Pentagon security and changing the trajectory of bullets headed toward Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy).  In order to pull off the slow-motion sequence director Bryan Singer had to shoot the scene with a high-speed camera filming at 3,600 frames per second.

Below, is a three minute video detailing the visual effects that were created by Rising Sun Pictures for the scene. It is a must watch for any fan of the series.

Ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. The beloved characters from the original “X-Men” film trilogy join forces with their younger selves in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past was directed by Bryan Singer ("Usual Suspects"). The cast includes: Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Peter Dinklage, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Evan Jonigkeit, Adan Canto and Josh Helman.

When the hell is the promised Director's Cut coming out? It's borderline ludicrous FOX is making us wait this long.

yeah lol
Heard something a while back about Zack Snyder wanting to make people's jaws [frick]ing drop with the visual speed effects that they were already developing them ahead of time.

They said that their not doing a adaptation of Age of Apocalypse, but they will be taking a lot of elements from the story into this movie.

Dear CW Flash folks,

You're doing a great job with special effects so far.

Still, take all the notes on this.

Please and thank you.

how does Silver Disco listens to music at that's speed? Makes as much sence as Magneto controlling Sentinels by using rail road track metal.

@RatFink hahaha. that's pretty good.

@DanteSparda yeah I'm well aware of that, that's why I've been so impressed with Flash's effects so far. Still can't hurt to take notes from the big budget folks.

In time this will be seen as one of the great iconic CBM scenes. Great to see CBM Quicksilver as faster than CBTVshow Flash too.

cool scene.

Now I just hope Singer does something memorable with Scarlett Witch too on Apocalypse, and this time... in the actual streets.

He has only made memorable scenes with male characters, so.... lets see if he breaks that formula this time around

I dunno...Blink's scenes in DOFP were quite memorable. Singer made those portals look amazing.

the portals look amazing, but she had portals during the whole movie, so she didnt have THAT one memorable scene everyone was talking about.

the Quicksilver scene was memorable because it stand out on the entire movie, thats why most movie sites and fans talked about just that scene.

Same case with Nightcrawler intro in X2. he didnt have more epic scenes during the rest of the movie, just that intro. It was done to stand out

The Flash is so unrealistic in an unrealistic world. The only villains he should have a problem with fighting are those that are as or can in someway be as fast as or faster than him (e.g. speedsters). Other than those, the other villains should be a really big piece of cake.

@Superior

By your logic, Quicksilver is the most powerful mutant in the X-Men universe???
marvel72
marvel72 - 11/28/2014, 5:01 PM
if he was moving so fast that everything else slowed down wouldn't the music been effected what he was listening to as well,you know like when play a record at the wrong speed,that's what the audience should of heard.

good scene,a bit overrated.the nightcrawler in the white house scene was better.

@KennyPowersEsq

I've never really seen his limits as much as I've seen The Flash's, but most likely, no. The Speed Force carries more opportunities than having superhuman speed as a mutant ability. Let's not forget what The Flash did in Flashpoint and how he nearly carries full responsibility for the creation of the entire New 52 universe. In addition to this, The Flash can steal the speed/momentum of other objects, can construct energy from matter, and has been shown to have the ability to knock super or metahumans to different parts of the world in one punch. The Flash can also disable nearly anyone in less than a second.

The Flash is a highly overpowered but unrealistically utilized hero.

Sorry I thought you were referring to the TV show Flash. Idk enough about comics Flash as I'd like to, let alone to carry on a knowledgeable discussion, hahaha. The more I get interested in the show, the more I want to learn about the character in the comics.
