Boy I love this clip. McAvoy doesn't get enough credit in the role.

Really interested in how Logan places himself between Charles and Eric. I think they'll both re-open the school at the end, sorta setting up Apocalypse (without having to kill Xavier).

The ending will probably be the school re-opening in the 70's and the future.

Has to be a happy ending. X2 ended with Jean's death, X3 ended with Jean's death again, Origins ended with, [frick], Lynn Collins (?) death, First Class ended with Xavier in a wheelchair, The Wolverine began with Jean's death...

uh xavier if you remember correctly you let mystique go, you told her to go with him. Oh wait this is directed by singer, so of course he wouldn't notice things like that

Odd that they released two separate cuts of this scene. I like the tension between them but the dialogue is a bit too melodramatic for me.

"You took her away and abandoned me!"

Xavier sounds like an emotionally disturbed orphan. Maybe there's some backstory in this film that we haven't seen to give this some better context, but in reference to First Class, he shouldn't be reacting this way at all. He definitely pushed Mystique away, and even encouraged her to go with Magneto. He snubbed Magneto when he tried to endear himself to Xavier as well - "We want the same thing" "No my friend, we do not".

I'm not saying the scene is bad, I actually like the conflict between the two, but I'm having trouble threading the needle through Xavier's frame of mind.

Xavier is morally ambiguous and can be just as arrogant as Magneto. He just tries to package it under this completely benevolent facade. On the Magneto relishes in his powers and his arrogance. That's why I prefer Magneto's stance instead of Xavier's. I can really see these two owning these roles for the franchise's future.and continuing to adapt to the roles as the characters progress.
