X-Men: First Class To Recreate Opening Scene From X-Men 1

X-Men: First Class To Recreate Opening Scene From X-Men 1

Apparently Mathew Vaughn will be shooting a recreation of the concentration camp scene from Bryan Singer's first X-Men movie, which features a young Eric Lensherr(Magneto) being separated from his parents..

Bleeding Cool have a very interesting scoop. I'm sure you all remember the opening scene from X-Men. A young Eric Lensherr is separated from his parents as they are herded into concentration camps in 1944 Poland. The trauma causes the young mutant's powers to manifest and he destroys a metal gate before being knocked unconscious by a guard. Well apparently this scene is to be redone in Mathew Vaughn's prequel..

According to Bleeding Cool’s sources, this sequence plays out shot-for-shot in the upcoming X-Men: First Class… at least, up to a point. They casting is different too, of course – this time around, the tremendous Bill Milner is playing Lensherr – and when the sequence does deviate, it’s with some very dramatic twists… which we’ll be keeping under our hats for now, I’m afraid.

Director Matthew Vaughn had video reference of the original sequence on tap for the cast and crew during their prep for shooting this sequence, and for the shots that are mirrored, the attention to detail is apparently quite exhaustive.

I'm very curious as to what the lads at Bleeding Cool are "keeping under their hats". Hopefully we will find out soon.

If anyone is around the Oxford set for X-Men: First Class feel free to share any info or photos you might pic up. Just click the "contact me" link underneath my ugly mug on the top left!

the opening scene on the first two x-men movies are classic comic book moments.

especially x-men 2,the nightcrawler scene in the white house.

shame, the rest of the movie won't be as cool as the opening.

deadpool: I think the Nightcrawler scene may be my favorite CBM moment, period. Of all time. Ever.

Sorry it took so long to get this together, I couldn't find a single still from that scene online! Had to be the comics versions.

I loved that Nightcrawler scene. But my enjoyment was taken away because he had those tribal tattoo things...;)

I know, I didn't really dislike them! I just know someone is gonna say something like that!

"That wasn't Nightcrawler, he was a diff color, and had those markings, and wasn't wearing his red costume. IT SUCKED!!"

Shaman: :D

I sure remember watching that Nightcrawler scene in the theater think: holy shit! This movie is going to be incredible!

It was good but that scene was just spot on. I understand the religious carvings on his skin but I didn't like them.

It's funny because From X-men-Wolverine Origins they all had great opening moments, and then that same energy was lost during the rest of the films. IMO

I hated the Scared Up Nightcrawler I even hated the fact he wasn't in X-men 3, when you watch all three X-men movies back toback there are alot of plot holes with the whole Cameo things going on Different casting and a Hairless Hank Mccoy in 2 and Then a blue one in 3 Made no sense, The Opening of X2 was sweet with nightcrawler until you actually got to see him then it just gets boring, The X-men movies should have just been called Wolverine poor cyclopes always gets the shaft, Cyclopes is a leader in the comics and cartoons then Bryan Singer made him a woose and ever since Cyclopes has never redeemed himself, Even in Wolverine and the X-men he was a cry baby!

that sounds kinda silly to me, why do the same thing almost to the T? new cast, new director, why not new opening lol im just saying.
@arrionshadow i agree with u 100% about cyclopes, biggest let down ever. lets make the back bone of the group a little puss and then kill him in the 1st 5 min in the 3rd film for no resone, yes im still sore about that lol

Nightcrawler was close enough for me. He had his accent, acrobatic/persecuted/religious origin, connection to Mystique, and flat sense of humor. But yeah, I don't think Nightcrawler would get tattoos even if they were religion themed. I think it was just an excuse to add texture.

I really hope this movie doesn't END with the founding of X-Men... because then they should have titled it X-Men Origins, not First Class. If it's not even 2 hours long, I might not pay to see it. Remember how X3 was only 104 minutes?

@Cyke89 LOL exactly. Which is why I said they should call it X-Men Origins if it's not centered on the actual team.

A lot of the plot seems to be Xavier and Magneto. Then Emma Frost and the Hellfire Club. I'm guessing they'll all be trying to recruit young mutants and fight over them.

This sounds about as useful as telling us what happened to Krypton or Bruce Wayne's parents... WE'VE SEEN IT!!! WE KNOW!!!!.

It wouldnt be the first time Fox recreated something that was in previous movie.

Do you all remember Wolverines flashbacks of the weapon X program when he got his adamantium claws? In X-2, Wolverine was covered in blood screaming in pain like he didnt relized what was wrong with him, then in Wolverine Origins, he just went crazy on everyone yelling like a mad man. Not to mention the whole process of bonding the adamantium to his body looked different from the two movies.

interesting find ror. maybe magnetos sister mystique will be one of the guards in disquise and they along with a backwards aging emma frost who is older here than in wolverine escape to run off with a blue haired mccoy who then loses all his fur only to regain it again. damn i should write for hollywood.

I gotta admit X1 and X2 opening scenes were actually great, specially the X1 opening scene.
Prolly that recreation scene will be good, but we all know that the rest of the movie will suck :)

one of the biggest f*ck ups with x-men 2 & 3 for me was the mistreatment of colossus.

x-men 2-colossus such a small role in the movie.

x-men 3-how can you put colossus & the juggernaunt in the film together & not have them collide with each other.

So a little Xavier is going to be watching in the background as Eric is dragged away?

Or he makes the guards believe they take Eric away while Xavier saves him and they live on the streets in Newsies style childlike gayety.

Deadpool72@ Agree! I was waiting intense fight between them, but noooo! They put Juggernaut to chase Shadowcat and then run like a fricking retarted against the wall!!:D... That was hilarious, but not in the good way!!
I hope he breaked his neck so he would not suffer in X-Men 4, if its never going to come!... I hope not

i'm a proper hardcore fanboy & thats probably my biggest failure.

i.e the original five, proper costumes & so on.

@ nuck82

i love colossus,he would definetly be in my top five x-men ever.

i just think it was a wasted opportunity.

I thought the second was okay but the first and third were horrible I been reading xmen since my teens and just watching that first one broke my heart because I waited a long time for it and I thought it was Finns be monumental. It was like drinking a nice cold glass of coke and finding out its flat. It had no fizz. Same for Superman returns. Singer just plain sucks.
