First 47 RONIN Clip Released; "I Will Give You All You Desire..."

The first clip from Carl Erik Rinsch's 47 Ronin has been released and it features...a fair bit of dodgy acting and even dodgier CGI! The movie stars The Matrix's Keanu Reeves along with Hiroyuki Sanada, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Tadanobu Asano and Rinko Kikuchi. Check it out!

The troupe of banished samurai long to restore their honor and find vengeance against the treacherous Lord Kira (played by Asano, who is in theaters now as Hogun in Thor) who was responsible for the death of their master. Kai is the uneasy compatriot in their company and his standing will be questioned even more as he falls in love with Mika (Shibasaki), daughter of the fallen master. The film presents a quest where the ronin (the term for samurai with no master) face trials that test their mettle and their loyalty to one another.

Directed by Carl Erik Rinsch, and starring Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Tadanobu Asano and Rinko Kikuchi, 47 Ronin is set to be released on December 25th, 2013.

Nice unbiased article from Josh as usual!

Either way, this looks like some harmless fun.
And Rinko Kikuchi is a terrific actress.

I must be the only person going to see this movie. Such a shame too, it looks like it's shaping up to be a great action fantasy flick.

Seeing the SFX on movies like this and The Hobbit makes me wish they would remake Willow.

I'm with you, Vtopa. It looks pretty cool. I like the idea of seeing a fantasy movie based on Asian culture instead of European. It will be cool.

I'm a fan of the story itself. I've seen several iterations of this story, including one that Kurosawa made waaaaaaay back in the day. I hope this film does the story justice.
