2 GUNS Director Discusses The Tone Of The Film & Working With Denzel Washington

Baltasar Kormakur is probably best known for directing Mark Wahlberg's Contraband, and now he is paired up with the actor again, along with Academy Award winner Denzel Washington. According to director, who spoke with Collider, the film will be more fun element to the action that was not seen in Contraband. He confirms that the film is contracted to be an R-rated film, but will only pursue that rating if it makes his film better. 2 GUNS - Academy Award® winner Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg lead an all-star cast in 2 Guns, an explosive action film that tracks two operatives from competing bureaus who are forced on the run together. But there is a big problem with their unique alliance: Neither knows that the other is an undercover federal agent.

For the past 12 months, DEA agent Bobby Trench (Washington) and U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman (Wahlberg) have been reluctantly attached at the hip. Working undercover as members of a narcotics syndicate, each man distrusts his partner as much as the criminals they have both been tasked to take down.

When their attempt to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel and recover millions goes haywire, Trench and Stigman are suddenly disavowed by their superiors. Now that everyone wants them in jail or in the ground, the only person they can count on is the other. Unfortunately for their pursuers, when good guys spend years pretending to be bad, they pick up a few tricks along the way.

Sounds like it will be a classic already. I estimate they will have good chemistry, just as good if not better that Washington and Hawkes in Training Day.

"48 Hours" is a fantastic movie, great from start to finish. That movie never gets old.

"Bad Boys" is a steaming pile of manure.

"'Bad Boys' is a steaming pile of manure."

I'm not really a fan of any of the talent in involved, but it's a basic requirement of any straight, red-blooded American male to like and acknowledge that movie.

I'm assuming you're none of the three.
