Matt Damon's BOURNE 5 Return Pushed Back Two Weeks

Fans rejoiced when Universal announced that Matt Damon & Paul Greengrass would be returning to the Bourne franchise, but now it looks like we may have to wait just a bit longer to see Damon back on screen.

Last September, fans rejoiced when it was announced that star Matt Damon (Good Will Hunting) & director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy; The Bourne Ultimatum) would both be returning to the Bourne franchise for Damon's fourth adventure as the amnesiac ex-CIA assassin Jason Bourne. Their untitled Bourne return film, tentatively titled Bourne 5, was given the July 16, 2016 release date and effectively pushed The Bourne Legacy sequel, starring Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), back to an yet-to-be announced future date.

Now, Variety is reporting that we may have to wait just a little bit longer to see Matt Damon don the black jacket once again. Facing stiff competition from Fox's Ice Age 5 & Paramount's Star Trek 3, Universal has decided to push Damon's Bourne 5 back two weeks to July 29, 2016. This is not an uncommon release date for a Bourne film as the previous three films in the franchise have seen late July and early August releases. Bourne 5 will now open a week after Lionsgate's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot and a week before WB/DC's Suicide Squad.

2016 is really shaping up to be one of the biggest years for movies ever! Just look at this lineup:

  • Deadpool
  • Allegiant - Part 1
  • Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice
  • The Huntsman
  • Alice in Wonderland 2
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
  • Uncharted
  • Independence Day 2
  • Tarzan
  • Ice Age 5
  • Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
  • The Smurfs reboot
  • Sausage Party
  • Gambit

  • Finding Dory
  • The Mummy reboot
  • Star Trek 3
  • Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur
  • Bourne 5
  • Suicide Squad
  • Lego Ninjago
  • Inferno
  • The Sinister Six
  • Star Wars standalone film
  • The Greatest Showman on Earth

I watched all 3 just recently. Freaking awesome!
Although Doug Liman's direction is much better. Too much shaky cam in 2 and 3.

I just watched The Bourne Identity a couple of days ago. Really excited for Bourne 5! And please make another Bourne video game.

Lol! I accidentally read the Harry Potter spin-off movie as "Fantastic Breasts" instead of Fantastic Beasts.

@Scorpion8125 The media can have a strong influence on the weak minded.

Dumbasses like Affleck, Clooney and Damon support an anti American tyrant simply because he shares their views. It doesn't matter to them when the tyrant attacks the US constitution or is lawless and spreads a spirit of lawlessness to the people who believe in his lies.

The little people, the brainwashed sheep, follow their masters in the media as an obedient herd.

There's no hope of ever breaking the sheep free of their programming. They still believe the global warming hoax. Haha! How sad is that?

Global Warming isn't a hoax, it's cause and effect. Chemistry. Every action has a reaction.

Okay, I liked the first Now You See Me. But we're really going to have to watch Bruce Banner and Lex Luthor try to be Doctor Strange again?

Oh well whatever...

These studios and their sequels...

No, no. Franchises... forgot. It's not just sequels. We must have franchises which means if we make a mistake we just hit the redo button that's called...

REBOOT

Sometimes, I like reboots, but most of the reboots they've got today need to be rebooted out the door.

@BatManHeisenberg @MisterBabadook @JonnJonzz55 Mention the sheep and they shall appear. It's gotta hurt when your all safe and smug in your brainwashed state and then someone dares challenge the masters who control you.

Humorous indeed! It's also quite telling that each of you did nothing more than rinse and repeat the ramblings of other sheep. You went right into your anti-Fox mode. Because all who do not surrender their opinion to the leftists media must of course give it to Fox, listen to Rush and maybe some Alex Jones, right?
What you are saying is that we must all get our opinions from someone. That we must all follow someone, which is an admission of your loyal follower mentality. And none of you even realize it. Hilarious!

It's very telling that your blundering drivel, is the same old and tired rant that is repeated by millions of other followers of leftist media such as CNN, MSNBC all of their pundits, alarmists, celebrities and others. That is because each of you get your thoughts from the same sources which causes each of you to repeat them verbatim. And none of you ever notice. Hilarious!

That's actually quite the Freudian slip. Because in your limited minds one can only have an opinion they receive from some part of the media. They can't have an opinion from any other source.

You guys keep watching for that Global Warming to kick in. Amused to see that you've bought the Climate Change hoax. Of course every atmosphere is in a constant state of change but hey, your masters said to believe that we are suddenly experiencing Climate Change and that's what you're going to do.

Meantime global temps have fallen since 1998, the North Polar Ice cap has increased in size 43% to 63% as proven by NASA and billions are being made by corporations to develop green energy, GMOs and other goodies for that day that must come because CNN, MSNBC, said so. And Obama said it too and he would never lie to you. Would he? (Here's the part where you say Obama has lied but no more than other politicians. And then you say Bush lied about WMDs in Iraq, even though we recently discovered that WMDs were found in Iraq and the US military lied about them because they could'nt safely remove them.)
But hey, go ahead, say it. C'mon. It's not like I haven't heard you drones say it before. C'mon.

And remember, in the late 90s the leftist media told you that the ice sheet at the North Pole would be gone by now, yet it's grown by 920,000 miles.

Yet still you adhere to the opinion and theories of the media while the facts say otherwise. Again, "they" wouldn't lie to you poor boys now would they? Hilarious!

@TheAxiom, the real issue is climate change or the human contribution to the environment such that it could cause a local or global change to the ecosystem, which would in turn potentilly cause harm or extinction to species. Global warming is a straw man argument. Furthermore, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and Alex Jones are skewed sources of information that should be taken with a grain of salt.
