Early estimates are in for the 4-day Presidents weekend in North America and it's A Good Day To Die Hard which has managed to nab the top spot at the box office following its release on Valentine's Day. However, it didn't really face an awful lot of competition as none of this weekend's new releases have been met with a particularly positive response from critics. A Good Day To Die Hard has the advantage in the respect that its the fifth instalment in a beloved franchise and features a big action star like Bruce Willis. According to Deadline, it took $8.2 million on Thursday, $7.6 million yesterday and an estimated $29.5 million for the weekend. That will give it a 5-day Holiday total of $37.3 million. Are you planning on checking it out this weekend?

Iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, for the first time, finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack – unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. STARRING:

Bruce Willis as John McClane
Jai Courtney as John "Jack" McClane, Jr.

Sebastian Koch as Komorov
Yuliya Snigir as Irina
Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Lucy McClane

I'm kinda dissappointed with it.
I watched the Die Hard marathon and was SO excited for it. I love the previous 4 and I thought this was a good action movie. Just not a good Die Hard movie. Going in, I thought he would be more "McClane" like he was in 1-3 based on the trailers but I felt like they decided to substitute action for dialogue. I need to watch it again, i still liked it, just not what I was hoping for. Idk. I haven't figured it out yet.

Action goes little over the top. Thats my only complain.
John McClane is not Superman.

After commiting to sitting in a theater for 12 hours during the Die Hard marathon, I thought this would be the icing on the cake. It was not... If this wasn't call Die Hard, it would have been a straight to DVD release. This makes Live Free look like a masterpiece.

There's very little story and he's basically a superhero now. The action pieces were pretty memorable. It was fun enough.

I think these movies have cleary outgone what they needed to be, not 5th in the franchise and even more.

Nevertheless, people still see them becuause of Mr. willis.

They said specifically in the preview for this movie, there is non-stop action from start to finish, I skeet you not that's exactly what they gave you, I was looking for a break during the movie to get away from the bullets in Imax doby digital stereo, but I loved this movie.

If you have and issue for what this movie is about you clearly have not remembered the last four damn movies, for the criminal its all about the money(die hard three tried to kick in some revenge, but you can never kill a mcClain), and 3 out of 5 of the movies its a russian bad guy. die hard 2 and die hard 4 were American bad guys you gotta love they took it out of America for once.

Why people expect the exact same mcclain I have no idea, if he was the same you would complain about how unreal it was for and older man mcclain to act like some young vibrant stud, hell die hard six will about both kids with the mother involved i hope.yeah I just called it their will be a six in 3 year if not sooner within 2 years.

Great movie great mcclain and they have cleared up my long desired question of what about the kids and what happens to them as they aged from the first one.

I seem to like this Jai Courtney enough, but when his head is shaved, sometimes all I can see is what would happen if Michael Rosenbaum were to take the super-soldier serum, lol.

For everyone in the room, no critic in here or anywhere can curve or change your perspective of if you like a movie or not. some people may over value their own opinion when judging a movie, as most critics do. This movies story line was fast, majority of the story line in honesty took place before the movie started, they admitted by having brief explanations of why the bad guy is the bad guy, other wise it would have been a long scene showing his life before all this happened. If you were looking for deeper a explanation a history shot, this was not the movie for you. If you were looking for a knock out drag out movie this is what you got.

No Hollywood movie has captured action better then jackie chan, as this was chopped up a lot for action scenes it got hard to see where things were going some times but still good. until we get actors willing to do jackie chan type acting and stunts movies will have this particular flaw of flash action. still good action non the less. this was a die hard movie for the older mcclain and they showed him to be what he was an aging hero coming to save his what is thought to be a bad apple of a son.
