A few months before the Oscars, China's film committee complained about the needless violence that was appearing in cinema today, Quentin Tarantino has since come out and said "Violence is needed to show what these people lived through". But after months and months of alternate cuts and different takes, Django Unchained will in fact not be getting a release in China.

With no current reason behind the film not being shown, the one many are thinking of is the amount of sexual orientated things in the film. The New York Times has said "there was talk among some people in the industry that brief nudity in one or two scenes had offended Chinese officials. The move comes after some scenes were reported to have already been edited to conform with the wishes of Chinese censors." While English newspaper The Guardian has said that Jamie Foxx's full frontal nude scene is to blame. Which really is a shame, considering China is the 2nd largest film market in the world. Here's what Sony had to say:

"We regret that Django Unchained has been removed from theaters and are working with the Chinese authorities to determine whether the film can be rescheduled," the film's overseas distributor Sony Pictures Entertainment said in a statement.

So what do you guys think? Have you seen Django Unchained? Did you think it was too inappropriate for a country that shows films like Human Centipede? Comment below and let me know!
