CBM, along with several other movie sites, has been sent the following press release and trailer for Liberator, a short movie starring the man known best to comic book fans for his iconic role as the Hulk in the 1970s television series and more recently as the voice of the character in The Incredible Hulk (2008) and The Avengers. Personally, I always enjoyed seeing Ferrigno take on comedic roles in the likes of King of Queens and I Love You Man, but this looks like good fun. The trailer for LIBERATOR a new 20-minute action-packed short film/presentation pilot starring Lou Ferrigno ("The Incredible Hulk") from Coverage Ink Productions has hit the web by storm today. LIBERATOR stars Ferrigno as a disgraced, washed-up ex-superhero whose secret black ops past comes back to haunt him as he tries to put his life back together. Like the LIBERATOR character, Ferrigno is also making strides, he stars in NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice which premieres this Sunday February 18, 9pm/8pm Central. Ferrigno is also voicing The Hulk in Marvel’s "The Avengers" which hits theatres May 4.

LIBERATOR features an all-star cast including: Peta Wilson ("La Femme Nikita") as CIA spook Marla Criswell, Michael Dorn ("Star Trek: The Next Generation") as Augustus General Pollard, Don "The Dragon” Wilson as Sidewinder, Tara Cardinal as Gaia, Darwin Harris as Duke, and the legendary Edward Asner ("Up") as President Whitlock.

Jim Cirile is the film’s co-writer and Executive Producer. Aaron Pople is co-writer and Director. Former Marvel Comics bullpen artist Darren Auck created the film’s comic art prologue and graphic novel artist Gerry Kissell ("Code Word: Geronimo") illustrated the film's closing sequence. SyFy Channel’s "Hollywood Treasure" co-host Jesse D’Angelo designed the Liberator suit. The film features an original orchestral score by Tim Wynn, perhaps best known for scoring the hit video game "Red Faction: Guerrilla."

So...we just saw a 10th of the actual film? That means they have another 18 minutes to make sense of everything? Hmm....

Lou Ferrigno is looking good! This film doesn't really, though. Sorta looks like something someone made for YouTube.

This looks horrible. XD Michael Dorn and Lou Ferrigno BOTH could afford to put a bit more oomph into the budget.

As much as I love Lou Ferrigno this looks really bad. And how in the hell did they get Ed Asner to be in this? Both are good actors and how did they get talked into this. Michael Dorn can do better too he is muther f#cking Warf.

@Cerebro -- same here. Big fan of The Lou, but this looks like something even Fred Olen Ray would be embarrassed of. Such a shame; Lou's a great guy (I've met him a few times myself, and he's always so cool and gracious and eager to share stories) and though he's never been the best actor around, he still deserves worlds better than this.

Incidentally, and not for nothin', but Lou at the Masters Olympia in '92? Better than Arnold was on his best day. My two cents.
