It's official. The first teaser trailer for Mission: Impossible - Fallout will debut during the Super Bowl.
Tom Cruise made the announcement himself on The Graham Norton Show, where he appearaed with co-stars Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, and Simon Pegg, revealing that a 30-second TV spot is slated to air during the big game between the 5x World Champion New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles, which will be followed by a full-length teaser trailer online shortly afterward.
Additionally, during their appearance on the popular talk show, Cruise debuted the first actual footage from the highly-anticipated film, which he describes as "largest practical action film ever shot," and while it's not much, it is a shot that we've already heard plenty about as it's the exact moment where Cruise breaks his ankle - and it's not exactly for the faint of heart. Also, in case you were curious, the shot will be used in the movie.

Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise), while in hot pursuit of August Walker (Henry Cavill), defies gravity as he leaps from building to building. This scene has already gotten a lot of press as it did break the ankle of a global megastar, but as you can see above, McQuarrie still got the shot, so I guess it all worked out in the end.
Here it is, the epic action sequence we've been hearing about since the press tour for Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation (and yes, that's actually Cruise climbing the rope). It's a little unclear what exactly is going on, but according to Cruise, the stunt is actually a series of stunts as Cruise goes toe-to-toe with Cavill's August Walker.
We've seen plenty of photos of that famous mustache, but here's our first official look at Henry Cavill as the antagonist of the picture, August Walker, and we also get our first look at Academy Award-nominee Angela Bassett as the new director of the CIA. The nature of their working relationship is yet-to-be determined, but this photo does suggest Bassett's character might be at least a little suspicious of Walker's intentions. Additionally, Cavill won't be the only baddie as Sean Harris is also back as Solomon Lane.
She's back. Rebecca Ferguson returns as Ilsa Faust, making her the first female lead in Mission history to return for a prominent role in the sequel, not including, of course, a brief cameo from Michelle Monaghan at the end of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. Oh and in case you missed it, Monaghan is also set to return for Fallout, so it's shaping up to be quite the reunion for Mr. Hunt.
Here's more of that epic action sequence as August Walker (Henry Cavill) hunts down Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). Once again, we really don't know what's going on as the tides have seemingly turned in this photo, but Cruise did tease that the photos we've seen may not be occuring in chronological order, so we'll just have to wait until July to see what's really happening.
The boys are back. Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg return for their fifth and fourth missions, respectively, and based on the nuclear threat the IMF faces, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is going to need all the help he can get. Unfortunately, however, they'll be down a teammate as Jeremy Renner isn't expected to return as he was busy all last year filming Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, although with filming having wrapped on the Marvel epic and filming still ongoing on M:I 6, we can't rule out a cameo just yet.
