Speaking with
Collider, Sam Worthington - who reprises his
Clash Of The Titans role of 'Perseus' in the upcoming sequel,
Wrath Of The Titans - talks in detail about how different the sequel is from the critically panned predecessor, saying that he felt like he managed to correct the flaws that he had in the first film in the sequel. He reveals that he's seen the film already, calling it 'awesome' and a blockbuster. He also talks about the father-son relationship plot, saying that's what the film is really about despite the monsters and its being a Greek mythological film. On Seeing Wrath Of The Titans...
I’ve seen the movie, it’s awesome. I love it. It’s the same world [as Clash of the Titans]; it’s got big [frick]in’ monsters, it’s a blockbuster. Everything that I personally felt that I’d let down in the first one, I got the chance to rectify.
On The Realism Of The Film And The CG Characters...
He wanted that, he wanted to be like a Ridley Scott kind of feel. [Liebesman’s approach to] putting CG characters into this kind of world [was that] it shouldn’t seem as if the CG characters are the whole thing, we got the creatures in there but they’ve gotta mesh with what we’ve set up, rather than us going to them they had to mesh with us.
On The Father-Son Relationship Storyline...
Primarily what it is, it’s about fathers and sons. It just happens to have a shit load of monsters, it just happens to be set in a Greek mythological world, but essentially it’s about a father and a son, that’s what it’s about.
Wrath Of The Titans is set to hit theaters March 30th, later this year.
