Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award®-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award®-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles – dead or alive.

Success leads Schultz to free Django, though the two men choose not to go their separate ways. Instead, Schultz seeks out the South’s most wanted criminals with Django by his side. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago.

Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Academy Award®-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation where slaves are groomed by trainer Ace Woody (Kurt Russell) to battle each other for sport. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Academy Award®-nominee Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. Their moves are marked, and a treacherous organization closes in on them. If Django and Schultz are to escape with Broomhilda, they must choose between independence and solidarity, between sacrifice and survival...

Written and directed by Academy Award®-winner Quentin Tarantino, DJANGO UNCHAINED is produced by Stacey Sher, Pilar Savone and Reginald Hudlin. The executive producers are Harvey and Bob Weinstein, Michael Shamberg, Shannon McIntosh, and James Skotchdopole. DJANGO UNCHAINED will be released in the U.S. on December 25, 2012, and internationally by Sony Pictures Releasing International.

Tarentino is not one for historical accuracy but I still love his work. I hope this movie is as good as the rest.

I think I might like this one the most. Awesome poster and synopsis. Is he going to consider this his "masterpiece" as he did with 'Inglourious Basterds'?

the script is really good, and is some of tarantino's best writing to date. It's more nuanced and subtle wereas Death Proof was overindulgent with the writing

Hate Jamie Foxx, but i love Tarantino so much. He hasn't made a bad movie yet. This looks great. and i can't wait to see what he does with an actor like Dicapricock

Waltz as the good guy? This could be interesting. Jamie Foxx is a strong actor, check him out in The Soloist with RDJ.

Nice poster the red reminds me of the Pai Mei training montage in Kill Bill, but I have to agree with Grif its not "stunning".

A lot of the articles here are sensationilesed like the "Extraordinary artwork" for the Dark Knight Rises children's books.

That is a pretty cool sounding plot, and with Quentin at the helm, should be damn good! Only one thing he directed I am not in love with, and that was Death Proof.

They've made over 30 Django Sequels for Christ's sake! And the only good ones are the first and maybe 2 or 3 others like " Django vs. Sartana" , "Django Kill", and the one in the late 80s with Franco Nero

Does Tarantino have one single original idea???? Everything he does is a over the top, clownish interpretation of a story. The acting and action scenes are too desperate and artificial. The original movies felt REAL.

Inglorious bastards was another rip off - oh i'm sorry "Homage".

Who decided def-comedy jam comedians deserve oscar's because they do good impersonations?

Soon we'll get a Tarantino rendition of "Dirty Harry" with Johnny Depp as Dirty Harry but this time he carries an ancient sword. Then Tarantino will pay Eastwood to play a small part as a foul-mouth gas attendant with a shotgun behind the counter.

I grew up with Westerns, dammit. He's Michael Baying my childhood with this !

FILM-NERD RAGE APOCALYPSE!!!!!
