UPDATE: Kellan Lutz Tries To Act Tough In This New Poster For THE LEGEND OF HERCULES

Summit Entertainment has released a new international one-sheet from their upcoming take on Hercules, but it seems fairly obvious that the Renny Harlin helmed release (starring Kellan Lutz as the Greek legend) won't prove a threat to the one starring Dwayne Johnson "The Rock"...

In Ancient Greece 1200 B.C., a queen succumbs to the lust of Zeus to bear a son promised to overthrow the tyrannical rule of the king and restore peace to a land in hardship. But this prince, Hercules, knows nothing of his real identity or his destiny. He desires only one thing: the love of Hebe, Princess of Crete, who has been promised to his own brother. When Hercules learns of his greater purpose, he must choose: to flee with his true love or to fulfill his destiny and become the true hero of his time. The story behind one of the greatest myths is revealed in this action-packed epic - a tale of love, sacrifice and the strength of the human spirit.

Hercules: The Legend Begins stars Kellan Lutz as Hercules, Scott Adkins as King Amphitryon, Liam McIntyre as Sotiris, Johnathon Schaech as Tarak, Gaia Weiss as Hebe, Roxanne McKee as Alcmene, Liam Garrigan as Iphicles, Rade Serbedzija as Chiron and Luke Newberry as Agamemnon. The movie hits January 10th.

Alright, we get it! This movie is gonna suck! Now, can we stop humiliating it? It's beginning to feel like bullying and that's not good.

Right Captain America?

Okay then...

And I gotta agree with @Yossarian, I doubt the one with the Rock will be anything special either.

Im not saying that the movie is any good, but has anyone who has criticized it actually SEEN it? Or are we just going to listen to a bunch of trolls with the tongues up Dwayne Johnson's crack? Nobody knows if his version will be any good either….

Maybe they shouldn't have cast an underwear model as Hercules.

I have little hope or interest in either film version of Hercules. This guy doesn't look like Herc... he looks like a model doing a cologne commercial. Though the Rock is definitely closer to what I would imagine Herc to look like, and I always like the guy when I seem him in a movie, I'm not interested in it either, yet. His movies aren't exactly igniting the box office on an individual basis, he's the biggest money draw of the year but he's also been in a boatload of films, so it adds up, and I'm not certain he can carry a franchise on those big shoulders.
I won't be seeing this Herc, and unless the Rock's Herc gets a hugely positive audience response, I'll wait for the DVD. On the other hand, if they make Herc a lighthearted and typical Rock kind of character, I won't bother with it at all... Duane Johnson has got to play a character, not play the Rock acting like he's someone else.

Supercat, for 'DISAPPOINTED' gifs, you gotta use Gary Oldman as Zorg from The 5th Element... he owns 'DISAPPOINTED'.

DudeGuyMan... I don't think we're dealing with 'professional' journalists here, and 'lame' is too ambiguous... so much is lame in all of media these days.

CoreyxyeroC, I remember; but I don't expect professionalism here, it's a fan based site... that's why we get so many 'This is the best film ever! And heres why!' stories.... the internet let's everyone's a$$hole be heard.

Hercules (Starring Dwayne "The Rock [by Michael Bay] Johnson)

Directed by: Brett Ratner (X-Men: The Last Stand, Rush Hour, and Tower Heist)

Written by:

Ryan Condal (2 writing credits in nothing you would recognize)

Evan Spiliotopoulos (Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, Cinderella III: A Twist in Time, The Nutty Professor)

BUT IT STARS THE ROCK!!! -BEST MOVIE EVER

Watch this movie be the better Hercules film. Also why does every movie go with the name Hercules when that is the Roman version? They still use the names of the other Greek gods but change the Greek name of Heracles to Hercules. I never can understand that. Plus the Roman version never did anywhere as much trials as the Greek one. So why go with the less powerful one?

I don't think either Hercules film will be good. Brett Ratner sucks as a director. So all that is going for that version is Dwayne Johnson.

I don't believe the Rock's film will be perfect, I don't even think of him as an amazing actor, but even from set photos, it looks great, where as this film looks utterly despicable.

Watch this be really good hahahaha...... But for real... Hercules has been done to much, and too poorly... Time to give him a shot in the MCU. It would be a new twist on the character that people would enjoy. If done right of course.

I would love to see Marvel's Hercules show up in the mcu as well, the Asgard/Olympus dynamic would be cool.

I agree. This is troll article.

This is most definitely NOT news.

This site prides itself on journalistic standards right.

This is anything but journalism.

Even the article which posted the clips said "The Rock is laughing looking at this".

This is frankly a rape of the term "news" and doesn't qualify as news at all.
KingLeonidas

Has The Rock paid this site to promote his movie and denigrate the competing film?

Might be one of the plausible explanation for this indefensible posting behavior.

This movie is gonna suck. The one with the Rock will be way better...but it will also be bad. But it's gonna fail because audiences will go "Oh there was already a Hercules movie this year, i don't want to see another one."

The same thing happened last year with White House Down and Olympus has Fallen. They both suck. But one failed because audiences were like "we already saw this, we don't see it again."

I find it funny that I think these special effects wouldve made a show like spartacus even more amazing. On the big screen it makes it look cheap.
