First Official pics of "The Spectre"!!!

Everyone's favorite green ghost is getting his shot at the small screen in the all-new DC Showcase series of animation shorts.

"The Spectre focuses on a detective story with an ethereal twist,
featuring the otherworldly character originally introduced by DC
Comics in 1940. The short is written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night)
and directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (G.I Joe: Resolute). The voice cast
is led by Gary Cole (Entourage) as the title character and Alyssa
Milano (Charmed) as Aimee Brenner.

The Spectre will be distributed February 23 by Warner Home Video as
part of the Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths Blu-ray/DVD.

DC Showcase is a co-production from Warner Premiere, Warner Bros.
Animation, Warner Home Video and DC Comics. Bruce Timm is Executive
Producer. Future DC Showcase titles include Jonah Hex (written by Joe
Lansdale)."


"Special effects wizard Drew Flynn gets spooked inside his own personal
house of horrors in The Spectre, the first entry within the DC
Showcase series of animation shorts.


"A bit of romantic history flows between Detective Corrigan and Aimee
Brenner in The Spectre, the inaugural entry within the DC Showcase
series of animation shorts. Gary Cole (Entourage) and Alyssa Milano

These pics look cool. The animation is spot on and when was the last time 'The Spectre" was featured in anything mainstream? I'm happy to see the ghost get his shot. Even if it's a little one.

Wow this is so Cool. I love the Spectre. I wish they would do a real TV show that would have different stories each week of DC Supernatural heroes like Spectre, Dr Fate and Jason Blood/Etrigan the Demon. Any of those could be a live action TV show and would be best if on HBO.

@ Multi for sure, thanks dude! These types of articles and interviews are purly original content for CBM. Hopefully we all can spur more original content as that is what is going to make us mainstream like an IGN, or MTV splashpage. Now and forever there will be CBM!!!

@Jman: Good stuff. I like the Spectre. Should be good. I think Adam Strange would be a good animated series for the younger folks.

I would love to see Fable as a live-action/CG (for the animals) hybrid. It would be great to see crazy Goldilocks on screen. Just not bear-on-girl action. : )

It's about time the Spectre was featured in something other than that silly Brave and the Bold show on the Cartoon Network.

I think I'm gonna like these Showcase shorts.We'll get to see some lesser known characters in action.Wish this was an actual series instead of Brave and the Bold.

About Fables, I've never read the series, but have been aware of it since it's creation.I keep hearing how good it is, though.Bill Willingham is the new writer for the Angel comic book.Should I be excited about that?

Man, I can't wait to see this short! Is it bad that I'm going to buy crisis on two earths just for the spectre short? I mean, the crisis cartoon looks cool but the spectre is bad ass.

This is gonna be awesome. The Spectre is so cool. I don't know about Jonah Hex being the second character featured in these shorts. I mean we're already getting a live action movie for this character. I think I'd rather see more characters that haven't been featured yet or featured very little whether it's live action or animation. I want to see Dr. Midnite, Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, Steel, the Creeper, Red Tornado, etc.

I'll bet the Spectre would be great as a live action movie, DC has the potential to catch up to Marvel on the big screen as long as the movies are done correctly.

now i want to skip outta work and go home to read comics, catch up on the lore ya know. spectre is cool but after kingdom come not sure ill ever get a better take on the character. and everyones always like "its supes story" but the norman mckay/spectre bits were the best part!
