Guy Gardner Looks Pretty Boss In New GREEN LANTERN: TAS Reveal

When Green Lantern: The Animated Series returns to Cartoon Network this September, Hal Jordan will find Earth a different place. After defeating the Red Lantern Corps. in the far reaches of space Hal looks to be in a good place but not so fast warns producer Jim Krieg. He warns "not to get too comfortable with the happiness Hal is feeling in his heart, because we're just gonna mess up his life again."

Hal's life takes a turn for the worst when he finds that while he's been out in space a new Green Lantern for Sector 2814 has been found in Guy Gardner, a character probably most famous for a run-in with Batman. "He's like Hal Jordan cranked to Level 10," said producer Giancarlo Volpe. "He's that much cockier, more brash and a womanizer."

Guy Gardner will be voiced by Diedrich Bader of Batman: The Brave and the Bold fame. But Hal's troubles don't end with Guy, the second season's big baddie will be the Anti-Monitor which will reportedly cause Hal to go on a recruiting campaign for more allies.

@Spidex The show started off a little slow to be honest but picked up considerably and ended up on a high note most definitely. By the way, I hope Kyle Rayner makes an appearance eventually!

Guy Gardener...I didn't know he has a side job. :P

Anyway, he looks very cool. Haven't managed to catch up with it after the premiere episode (it doesn't air in any of my channels), but the focus moving to Earth...very interesting.

I watched like 7 episodes of this show, and it gets more boring with each episode. I am very disappointed...

At first I thought I would be put off by the blocky animation, but it's not that bad. Because of the animiation style I thought it would be geared more towards a younger audience...it's got a nice balance. I think it could use a little more "edge" but it's not kiddy stuff either. - it is a cartoon for kids afterall.

The stories did start to feel a little flat and they seemed to repeat locations and characters. Closed universe feel. What Idid like was the inclusion of many characters loke MOGO...and Saint Walker etc...

I think like any adult watcher who loves anime and comics and these characters I would love to WB/DC to make an adult or more mature version of these properties..but as a whole this isn't too bad it's worth a watch.

********YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME!!!***************
"the second season's big baddie will be the Anti-Monitor which will reportedly cause Hal to go on a recruiting campaign for more allies."

- This has the makings of a version of Crisis, if done right (with an huge number of DCU heros/villians) this could make a new standard for the show!

- Hell... Season 3 bring on the black rings (all the heros and villians that die in season 2 fighting the Anti-monitor!)

Hey who knows!

The Anti-Monitor? I guess that sounds pretty cool to me, hopefully this means the SC war is next.

@CeltiC527

I think the SC war has to kick off at some point. They have already added, violet, red and blue lanterns. Yello and orange have to be around the bend. Hopefully even black down the road.

I hate Guy Gardner. His stupid bowl cut is ridiculous looking, and his costume looks like some gay motorcycle gang type shit. Hal Jordan and John Stewart are the only two GL's I give a good crap about.

@cbcurry I think Volpe already confirmed that Larfleeze will show up in the series , so all that leaves is the Indigo Tribe and then the SC! :D

I don't know why people diss on Gardner. He's like a city beat cop who looks for you to jay-walk, then stop you and beat you up without reading your Miranda rights.
Dmon
Dmon - 7/11/2012, 5:45 PM
@Scabsallover Cops only have to read you your Miranda rights before interrogating you. So they can legally arrest you and even use physical force against you if you are unruly without ever reading them to you.
Dmon
Dmon - 7/11/2012, 6:01 PM
John Stewart in the comics is boring. The only real story that he ever had was Mosaic and that was boring as hell. If John Stewart is your favorite GL you have probably never read the comic regularly. And only know him from the show and in the show they made Stewart more like Hal to make him more interesting the creators of the cartoon even said so.
