It should have stayed in concept form and never been made. The cartoon is horrible. Have you watched an episode Brent?

Though there was a short-lived Iron Man comic in which Tony was a teen (when the comic was in the crapper and they were talking about cancelling it), I just don't dig on the concept, myself.

I've seen the show, and it's better than I thought it would be.I'd prefer Tony to be an adult, though.

Is that the main and dare i say "only" problem with the show? I mean, aside from his stupid age, how's the story? The character development? The freakin' animation??? Looking at the trailers, it looks like the best animated series ever made from Marvel. I'd love to know what really sucks about it aside from Tony's age. I mean, he's been a genius all his life, why wouldn't he be a teen in an animated series? It's not really all that sacriledgious IMO.

Shaman - I've seen a few episodes. The animation and action scenes are spot on. The problems are found in the rest of the show. Tony, Pepper, Rhodey and even Mandarin are friends at high school. When I first saw it I nearly threw something at the TV! However, my son saw it too and keeps asking for it on. After seeing a few shows I can honestly say the concept is growing on me. Like you say, the important aspects are the story and character development. These seem pretty solid once you silence the "fanboy" voice. Put that along with the animation and you actually have a good cartoon, you just need an open mind.

Yeah Ron, that's exactly what i'm saying. As if "The Adventures of Lois & Clark" or even "Smallville" followed the comics to a "T". They were still good at a certain point. I understand that it's not fully accurate with the comics but it's not a comic. I mean it's not like they gave him powers that he's not supposed to have. I'll agree that having Mandarin as a high school friend is pushing it but if it's well done, why not? What if Batman Beyond was just a different reality than the comics and that Bruce was actually "Batman Beyond"? The show would still be good. Ultimate Spider-man was still a very decent and extremely well written book even if it was a different universe than the regular comics. So this show, IMO is the best animated series i've ever seen from any comic book character so far. It seems to be very similar to Technoman/Tekkaman:Blade which were some of my very favorite anime series of all time. To each's own, i guess but i'm willing to sacrifice his "age" or let Mandarin start off being his friend to finaly get a great tv series. You never know when Mandy will pop LOL :P

What do you mean "It just took everything from the movie really..."??? What makes it bad now? The story? The dialog? The villains? What? Wasn't the movie good?

Mr. Jojo - Thou speaketh the truth...eth. It may not follow the comics but they have actually come up with a good base story which allows for a great dynamic relationship between the main characters.

I hated it at 1st but once you open your mind you can see it is a good show. We need to remember that there are several variations of most characters in comics. If they are done well then we accept them. There are also several variations of some characters in cartoons so why do we not give them a chance?

RATNER UPDATE: Has Brett Ratner been listening in to our little thread about him here at CBM? I don't know, but Ratner Tweeted this last night:

The show is good! It's aimed at younger viewers and is an INTERPRETATION that works very well for a new generation! It's not meant to appeal specifically to us older fans, so I give it a pass on that basis!
