Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In Brave, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), surly Lord MacIntosh (Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

Directed by Mark Andrews, Brave is set to hit theatres on June 22nd.

Is it just me? This movie looks so "Meh."

Not interested, which is sad, because Pixar has done some amazing films.

I've loved many of Pixar's movies so I assume they will get this right, but her voice is pretty grating in this.

That's an IRISH song in a movie that's based in SCOTLAND?! How dare they!!! It pisses me off how 90% of Americans can't get a thing right about Ireland, and I'm sure it's the same for Scottish people! DX
I just realised this year how incorrect (and also racist, but that's a different story) St Patrick's Day is in the US. St. PADDY, not Patty. The symbol of St Patrick is a SHAMROCK, not a god damn four leaf clover. The shamrock had meaning and it represents the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit when St Paddy was supposedly teaching the Irish about Christianity! (i'm not a religious person BTW).
I could go on and on and on...

I hope Brave is good though. :)

@MarkV
I agree, I LOVE Pixar to death. But I hated Cars and I'm avoiding Cars 2. Everything else was great but this looks pretty "meh". I hope they prove me wrong though!

Before you guys continue whinning remember Pixar's previews never actually show the awesomeness of their movies...Go back and look at the trailer for Up, Finding Nemo or even Wall-E.

@Boyle360 - true, that's an irish tune.

Movie will be great as every single Pixar to date, though.

Ooooh now I understand with mothman's comment.

Now you Nolan Drones are hating on anything Disney does too?

That's lame, man, just lame.

I don't get where all the hate for this movie is coming from it seems on so many boards that people think this movie is going to flop or something. I personally think it looks amazing visually especially the hair pixar with this movie seems to have made some great technological strides with hair models looks amazing.

@nolanite You do realize Toy Story 3 was voted best animated film by the academy for 2011. I found it overrated and really felt How To Train Your Dragon was the better overall film but I digress. Toy Story 3 made over 1 billion dollars worldwide.

so it did not bomb not even close to bomb and neither did cars 2 which made $560 million even though it wasn't critically loved.

I'm sure like most Disney/Pixar films this'll actually end up being really entertaining. I know we're not supposed to say that though, because Disney cartoons are for little girls and we're big mature grown ups..... who just happen to love superheroes.

Yeah! Good ol' Dropkick Murphy's. Gotta love how Disney is representing.....Irish music.....in their...Scottish movie...

I guess you could argue that there's the whole Celtic influence across both cultures, but still...

Anyway, I'm stoked for this movie. When the Japanese trailer for Brave was posted on this site, it revealed way more about the plot. It sounded a lot like Origin, and Origin kicked ass.
